Master in most physics concepts. Can identify student shortfalls and address them through the subject fundamentals approach and by tying in real world applications for easier grasp of material.
I'm a graduate of UCLA School of Engineering with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I have a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 10 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success!
Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attribute
d to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.
I am a certified Physics teacher and curriculum writer. I have a passion for teaching Physics and I am able to break down the concepts to make them easy to understand. Additionally, I have a lot of laboratory materials.
Dear Students and Parents,
Born and raised in Germany, I graduated from college in 1995 with a degree in special ed and nursing. I came to Texas in 1997 and studied Biology at UTD. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in health care, and I also obtained my teaching certification in composite science (teaching chemistry, biology and physics) and in German. Currently I am teaching high school science classes (biology, physics, anatomy&physiology) , as well as German 1, 2, 3, and 4 (including pre-AP and AP German) at a local school. I have been teaching , translating and interpreting German for several years.
I graduated with my Master's degree in science education in 2015, and I am writing curriculum since 2013. Currently I am enrolled for my PhD in biology.
I am offering German lessons for every level, beginner
to advanced, including conversation, test preparation, and reading German literature. Since every student has different interests and needs, I customize the lessons and reading materials to fit the individual student. My specialties are medical and technical German, and business German.
I am tutoring all science subjects from K through 12, and some subjects on a college level as well. Sciences can be hard to understand sometimes, and I am generally able to break down the concepts to make them easier to comprehend, often with the help of manipulatives and hands-on material, such as molecular kits, microscopes, lab experiments, or games.
I have been tutoring math for about 2 years. I have a specific teaching style with an emphasis on breaking down concepts into simple terms that could be easily absorbed and remembered to ensure that the objective of the lesson is understood. I love answering questions and helping people to understand concepts. Physics can be a very difficult subject to learn. My goal is to help my Student fully understand the concepts. Physics is all around us and is therefore an important topic to understand. I want my students to reach their full potential while having a great time learning!
I have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Architecture. I am a Professional Engineer and soon to be Architect. Working in the construction industry requires me to work with different maths and physics principles on a daily basis. If the Student is serious about learning math and physics, I am dedicated to helping along the way. Some of the math subjects that I have experience tutoring include: Basic Math, Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and some Calculus. Some of the physics subjects that I have experience tutoring include: Fundamental Concepts, Mechanics, Kinematics, Thermodynamics, and Electricity. The goal is to make the concepts as easy as possible to understand. I do not quit until my Student has fully understood the concepts and feel confident in their own abilities to solve problems. All that I ask i
s that my Student comes ready to learn and not to give up.
I have mentored over 50 students in 20+ different subjects. I have experience with grades 4th to 12th, undergraduates, graduate students, and industry professionals.
I guarantee improvement in your understanding of the material starting from our first lesson together. I am committed to my students' success!
My name is Gerardo M. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. I am a STEM-focused tutor that specializes in teaching all levels of math (AP included), science, academic test prep, and college level classes. One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is my ability to communicate with my students. I identify areas that need improvement and figure out where the fundamental disconnect between the material and my student's understanding of it exists. In addition to tutoring, I have 7 years of experience in technology startups in the semiconductors and consumer electronics industries.
My philosophy is to teach my students to learn by intuition and logic rather than memorization. I emphasize teaching the fundamentals to build up a strong foundation of understanding. I believe this approach produces superior l
ong-term learning and enables my students to continue succeeding later in life.
Gerardo definitely knows a lot about Microsoft Excel. He taught me how to use pivot tables, create histograms, produce graphs of data, and he also helped me learn a few keyboard short-cuts to do my work more efficiently. Gerardo is a patient and effective tutor and I highly recommend him!

Gerardo helped me prepare for my AP Calculus AB test. I had trouble understanding certain concepts such as related rates and using integration to find volumes. He explained problems very clearly by going step-by-step, and making sure I understood the process every step of the way. I highly recommend Gerardo if you are looking for a math tutor.
I have 30 years teaching experience in Physics. Physics is full of complicated mathematical equations. My job is to make them all simple for you. From the very basics of linear motion to the more complex ideas of of advanced physics, I cover them all. I will explain step by step how to understand a problem, how to draw a diagram and how to use the exact equation to get the correct answer. All in a step by step easily to follow plan. Once I teach you a specific topic, you will have to demonstrate to me that you understand before moving on to more complex ideas. Parents are always welcomed to actively participate in the learning process.

Parents are always welcomed to attend and actively participate in the learning process. Your input means alot to me and can make a huge difference on the student's success.
Physics is the most fundamental of all sciences. It describes the way things work in the real world, so I encourage students to approach it first from an intuitive point of view. With my approach, you will not only do better in any physics course you're taking, but you can also expect to have a much better understanding of the world around you.
I tutor beginning French, high school and college physics, and mathematics from basic arithmetic through calculus. I home-schooled my own kids—two daughters who are now straight-A students at university, including mathematics.
I first began teaching French in 1965 when I was a 3rd year high school French student, helping other students who were struggling to learn the language. Everyone whom I helped showed great improvement in their comprehension.
I'm a retired physicist and engineer who worked as the senior scientist for a consulting engineering firm. Over the years I have helped many students who were having difficulty with algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus, as well as physics.
I remember what it was like to feel lost and intimidated by math problems that looked difficult. Geometry was easy for me, but algebra was
a struggle, until I figured out a fundamental approach that simplified everything. In turn, that approach made it much easier to understand trigonometry.
Similarly, I had a difficult time with high school calculus until I took physics. Once I saw that there was a practical use for the mathematics, it all became clear.
I know what my stumbling blocks were, and how I got past them. That's why I believe I can help anyone who's having a tough time with mathematics, at any level.
Anything from the fundamentals of atomic structure to the numerical solutions of non-linear partial differential equations.
I am a computational physicist and a business strategist with the navy, and an adjunct professor at NVCC in engineering and computer science. I've worked with some brilliant young scientists and engineers from all over the world and I'm a continuous learner. I have a Doctor of Science Degree in Fluid and Thermal Science as well as MBA in National Defense Strategy. My hobbies include sailing, scuba diving, martial arts (primarily taekwondo), playing ice hockey, cycling, and more.
I have been very successful removing the barriers students routinely face with new material. I will make it as accessible in the shortest time possible.
I'll break down every concept you don't understand, and together, we will practice those concepts until you get comfortable with them. I promise a fun end enjoyable environment!
Hey you! Comment tu vas? Whether you are learning French as a prerequisite, or just for fun, having someone to speak with is the way to go! I'll create an environment where you can have fun learning the language, including the grammar and vocabulary. I know a lot of people say that French is hard, but it doesn't have to be. Book a lesson with me and I will prove them wrong! So excited to meet you!
