*** Travel Equipment ***
I do not typically provide any equipment - but I am willing to select and purchase books for the students to learn from (cost of books to be reimbursed by the student/parent) when requested to do so.

I am also willing to provide stick-on note-names for the keyboard, for young children.

The students must have their own instruments, and provide a folder for sheet music and notes/instructions.

*** Specialties ***
Guitar, I specialize in the following styles: jazz, rock, blues, folk, bluegrass, and children's songs.
Piano: I prefer electronic keyboard to acoustic piano, but am happy to teach beginning students on a regular piano as well. I teach note-reading, playing by ear, and theory, with en emphasis on rock, pop, and folk music. I include arranging, chord theory, and use of the many features of an elec
tronic keyboard, in the lessons.
Bass Guitar: I teach rock, pop, funk, and country music on bass.
Banjo: I teach bluegrass, country, and some blues and rock music. I can also teach a bit of old-timey frailing/clawhammer style.

*** I am particularly good at working with children who have a.d.h.d. and other learning disabilities!

Linda is easily the most patient and welcoming person I've ever worked with. She has incredible knowledge over a vast array of topics and she is eager to share with others. This, in my opinion, is the most important quality of all teachers. Her lessons have proved a great way to build a solid base in my field of interest. as well as providing me with a well rounded and wonderful mentor that I'm sure to rely on for many other lessons in the future- banjo or otherwise!

I have been a Spanish teacher for 14 years. In that time I have taught elementary school Spanish to grades K-5 but my primary focus for the past 12 years has been middle-high school Spanish for grades 6-12. I teach Spanish 1-4 and AP Spanish Language. My strengths are on vocabulary and grammar acquisition and at the AP level I can serve as a fluency coach helping to strengthen listening and speaking skills. My Spanish 3 and 4 classes are dual-enrollment and I taught for two years at Georgia State University so I understand the rigor and requirements of university level studies.

My educational background:
- Master's degree in Education

Cera has that unique combination of passion for her subject matter and a genuine love for her students. She is focused on their success and knows how to make the subject matter accessible and understood. She is skilled and trained in recognizing different learning styles, and will tailor learning based on how a student will best learn. You will not be disappointed and may want her to continue to work with even after the subject matter is mastered!

I am a writing educator with 15 years of experience; I've taught in public schools, community colleges, universities, for tutoring companies, and privately. Every place tackles language arts test-taking in its own way and that makes me familiar with a very diverse range of strategies. The SAT has changed and other tests will soon follow suit, but I can provide an adaptive, focused curriculum, tailored for getting you the score you're looking for, no matter the test.

For those not looking for help with testing, I also offer regular writing tutoring for schoolwork and college essays, writing help for college students, and services for professionals, including resume review, cover letter drafting, and other business communications services.

For families, study buddies, or peer groups, I can accommodate up to three students at a time,
working on individual tasks.

I serve the entire ITP area and several OTP communities; I'm willing to travel to you, and we can meet in whatever setting is most convenient, including public areas such as libraries and coffee shops. Online tutoring is also available and I have additional times available for such sessions.

About Jean
Hello!

I'm a university student who is currently studying music performance. I am interested in taking on a few students this summer. My specialty is brass performance (tuba, euphonium, trombone, etc), however, I can also teach basic music concepts such as reading music, and basic piano skills. Whether it is learning to actually perform and play on an instrument, or whether it is simply being able to audiate and then tap out a tune on a piano, I can teach these skills! I am very passionate about bringing basic musicianship to all kinds of people; all people should be able to recognize (or reproduce) the skills it takes to do any type of music. My teaching philosophy is very largely about music appreciation and music application. One will learn to appreciate old types of music and new types of music (like pop), and one will learn to app
ly their skills to the type of music that best interests them!

I also teach Spanish and French in addition; I have 3 years of French experience and 6 years of French experience; I would love to take on some beginner students!

With regards to these lessons, prices are entirely negotiable. Simply send an email and we can discuss.
I am willing to travel!

About Elena
As a current teacher at an intensive English program in Georgia, USA, I have taught grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking to students raging from 18 to 60 years old. Most of my current students are preparing to apply to colleges in English-speaking countries or are improving their English to be better qualified for professional growth. Due to the nature of what I am doing now, I am very comfortable working with students who have academic and professional goals such preparation for TOEFL or IELTS, practice for business presentations, or technical writing. However, I am also pretty comfortable working on more general goals such as daily conversation, US culture, reading for content, etc.

Here is my philosophy of teaching in a very very brief form: I am a big believer in needs analysis and diagnostic. Before any goals are s
et, it is imperative to understand students' backgrounds, aspirations for the future, and proficiency levels. Additionally, I believe that setting tangible goals drives improvement and increases motivation. Finally, feedback, feedback, feedback! Intonation or vocabulary usage, personalized and specific feedback is what my students get and love.

As far as methodology goes, I am pretty eclectic. Again, methods and approaches are chosen based on students' needs. Sometimes we just have to work on drilling sounds and intonation or some simple grammar concepts like “do/does”, while at other times open conversation is the best way to practice the same content. One key component that doesn’t change is the focus on the student. I work hard on planning my lessons so that my students do most of the work during class. I also strive to contextualize everything around real life by choosing materials that are recent and relevant.
