Ashley has been amazing with my son. She has taught him for almost two years now and he continues to enjoy learning piano. She is very patient, remains calm and engaging, is able to adjust the lesson as needed, and provides a positive and fun atmosphere for learning. I never hesitate to recommend her to any parents searching for a piano instructor.

Great teacher!!!! I really enjoyed my first singing lesson and after only one lesson i feel like I will be able to learn to sing chores at church. Also be able to be the lead for some of the song in the near future in some part of my ministry. i'm excited about the upcoming lessons.

I can't recommend lessons with Tori highly enough!

I've been obsessed with oil painting, and every kind of 2D visual art, for as long as I can remember, but I never really believed in myself to do it until I worked with Tori.

My drawing, painting, and even my 3D work progressed more, and more quickly, working with Tori than they had in years

Thank you Tori!!!!
Lisa
My three boys (ages 11-15) loved working with Tori. We still have the block print-making pieces, paintings and charcoal drawings displayed in our kitchen. Their favorite project was creating plaster casts of their own faces. Tori is very thoughtful, patient and has a great zen energy. I highly recommend Tori!

Students will learn how to read as well as play: notes, chords, scales, songs, common chord progressions, guitar tab, chord charts and a whole bunch more! Ear training, chord theory and improvisation will also be incorporated into the lessons.

I generally walk students through a guitar method book.
( a few examples listed below)

Hal Leonard Guitar Method by Will Schmid Level 1

The Christopher Parkening Guitar Method - Volume 1: Guitar Technique

Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method Grade 1

Some primary goals I have for students are to keep them motivated, interested, inspired and challenged.
I love music, and it should be fun, exciting, and entertaining!

You will learn a lot with me and we'll have a good time doing it!

I offer lessons in American traditional singing (including Southern Mountain style) and in traditional Irish singing (in both English and Irish Gaelic). I help students improve their vocal technique, while encouraging them to step outside the pop and classical vocal idioms to learn how to sing in traditional idioms, including (depending on preference) suitable melodic ornamentation.

I do not have a piano for lessons - only a recorder or violin to establish pitch, as well as accompanying instruments like guitar and dulcimer.

Student Comments:

"Many people are talented as performers but not gifted as instructors--Julie is most definitely both. She uses her keen ear to let you know your strengths, and finds productive ways to help you improve weak points. She lives and breathes traditional music and it is always a true delight to learn from her." –Sierra-Maria Magdalena, traditional Irish singing student

"My daughter has been learning with Stephanie for around 8 sessions now and I see a vast development in her voice. She is able to recognize and hit the notes at the right pitch. It's a thirty minute class and it's amazing how much Stephanie is able to cover in that much time. Practice is key and she has homework assignments for her students from day one. Her dedication and love for teaching is obvious in her consistency in every class. It's the perfect class to consider during the summer holidays for kids and grown ups alike."

"I am coming to the cello as a brand new beginner. I have play around with some fretted instruments, ukulele, banjo, etc. But Irina was super at getting me relaxed, focused on basics and encouraging me with small, but important mechanics and technical details. I have taken other music lessons like sax, so could compare. I totally enjoyed the start of my cello training.
Oh, btw, I'm retired and over 65!!!"

"It's a blaze to work with Luther! He identified my problem very quickly and provided concrete advices on improving the sound. His understanding on how beautiful sound is made is very clear and systematic. There are so many dimensions in the sound making for violin but he always breaks it down and works on each individual part of my postures and bowing. My sound is now much fuller than before! He also not only teaches violin but also how to think about music in general. I feel like I am constantly critically thinking on how I can experiment with each phrase after I take lessons with Luther. I will highly recommend Luther if you want to find a violin teacher!"

He has participated on stage for the concert series with confidence. Dr. Kalantzi has been an very helpful at guiding and teaching my son to be his very best at viola. "Miss Anna has been teaching our daughter for over three years. She is a very dedicated teacher who cares a lot about our daughter’s advancement. She is very nice, and gentle, but knows how to motivate her students to work harder. Our daughter enjoys this, because she feels that Miss Anna really cares, and the results are obvious. In the past three years our daughter’s technique has improved tremendously."
