I love to teach many different things but singing is my passion. I sing professionally on the side and teaching it for my job is so fulfilling. I am very lucky to do what I love every day!

About Ruthie
My name is Ruthie and I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2007 with a Bachelors of Music Education degree with an emphasis in voice. Through my collegiate experiences, I had the privilege of participating in a Concert Choir, Barbershop/A Capella Ensembles, Vocal Jazz Ensembles and Performance in Solo Voice. The jazz program at UNC is one of the finest in the United States, and to be selected as a member of one of the vocal jazz ensembles was an honor in itself. From these experiences I have gained knowledge about the importance of vocal performance and music advocacy. I accepted a position as a general music teacher in Colorado in the fall of 2007 and then worked part time for a school in Laguna Niguel, CA until June of 2012. I recently moved from California to Minnesota and am trying to get my music student cli
entele established. I love to sing all different styles and I'd love to help you find your style and help discover your passions.

My passion for music started for me as a young child. I grew up in a musically inclined family, and was inspired and motivated by family members to use my gifts and talents to educate students about the world of music. My immense love for children, coupled with my educational experiences and my passion for music qualify me as a fun and exciting teacher.

I am huge lover of Barbershop/Sweet Adeline music and I recently competed in the International Young Women in Harmony Quartet Contest in Nashville, TN. My quartet, Vogue, won the competition. The Young Women in Harmony contest is for girls 25 years old and younger. I recently sang with a quartet called, Dolce. We competed in two International Competitions in Denver and Hawaii and placed 10th and 15th in the world. I was also a member of the International Gold Medalist Chorus, Harborlites, which is comprised of 180 female singers.

"Music isn't just learning notes and playing them, You learn notes to play to the music of your soul." - Katie Greenwood

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons will be educational and fun. I want to find your passions and interests and from there I will create lesson plans to enhance your learning experience in your specified concentration. Voice lessons will start with vocal warm ups and exercises and then we will proceed to work on vocal techniques and preferred repertoire. During the lessons we will create goals and work on those goals so you become a successful musician.

I am a very patient and caring teacher and I am able to create the lessons to your style and needs. Music is fun and I want to make it that way for you!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a full keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
I studied music education in college with a vocal emphasis. I am classically trained but studied jazz as well. I also am a member of an internationally ranked barbershop chorus and quartet. I specialize in singing bass and lead in barbershop.

Brad is hands down one of the best vocal instructors in LA. He is knowledgeable, patient and truly understands the craft of singing.

He teaches you to sing with emotion and gives you tools that you can use your entire career to continually grow. I had bounced around from teacher to teacher until I found Brad and right away, after only a few lessons, he took me to a new level. Good luck!

Highly recommend! I had the great opportunity to shoot a promotional video for Mr. Chapman's vocal coaching, and it was an excellent learning experience. Just like a piano, flute or violin, your voice is an instrument.
The purpose of voice lessons is to help you to develop a beautiful and dynamic singing voice and also to teach you to use your voice in a healthy age-appropriate way that will keep you singing for many years to come!
As your teacher, I want your lesson to be more than just singing through a few songs.
While what specifically happens during a voice lesson can vary greatly from student to student and from week to week, the overall structure of the lessons remains similar.
We will always start with some combination of warm-ups for your breath, body, and voice. Just as you wouldn't go running without first stretching and warming up your muscles, you don't want to start singing full songs without first getting your body and voice warmed up.
Warm-ups will also introduce you to new techniques for properly using your voice in a healthy and beautiful way.
After warm-ups, we will work on songs. Typically, you will sing ...

About Denise
I hold a Master's in Voice Performance degree from University of New Orleans and Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from State Music Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria.
In 2001, I toured with International European Opera Company which performed numerous times in Denmark, France, Italy and USA.
I currently perform and teach in the New Orleans area and love to share my knowledge and experience with my students. There is so much more to performance then just beautiful vocalizing.....

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching is based on my own personal, classical training from Europe and North America. Whether it's opera, oratorio, musical theater or pop-style singing that is desired, I believe that classical technique is an essential source of proper singing that can be used to train singers of all genres.

During the lesson we will also work on expression and acting. A song isn't just pretty notes—it tells a story. If it's a song from a musical, there's a specific character that sings it. It's your job as a singer to tell the story and to make it fun and exciting for the audience.
While there's a lot of hard work that goes on during a lesson, voice lessons are lots of fun! As your teacher, I am here to encourage you, support you, and guide you in your vocal studies. I look forward to working with you soon!

I had a lot of issues coming into her class, all caused by teachers who didn't know what they were doing or couldn't communicate it effectively, if at all. In one lesson, Denise has completely cleared up all my doubts, misconceptions, and set me on a path toward singing fulfillment. I am really looking forward to continuing lessons with Dense.

And as an added bonus, Denise is an amazing teacher, a beautiful voice, and she models the singing superbly.

When she picks music she gives options to the student and makes sure to pick something that helps you grow as a musician but isn’t too difficult or challenging. I cater my voice lessons to the type of music the student enjoys singing. I teach the classical techniques and provide vocal exercises that help the student learn proper technique for breathing and focus. The classical "basics" can be applied to any type of music. So I can help a student with any style of music as long as they learn the basics first. I want lessons to be fund and enjoyable, but I do have an annual recital which provides an opportunity for my students to perform in front of the other students to gain a great experience. For my students who wish to pursue a musical career, I have access to festivals where they can compete for that experience.

About Lora
Music has been part of my family for generations! I LOVE music! I have specialized in voice and piano lessons for many years off and on. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, with a focus on piano and voice. I enjoy catering my lessons to the student's interest. I want them to enjoy coming to lessons and enjoy learning! It is very important that all of my students learn the "basics". However, we can still learn songs that they want to learn, while also learning songs with specific technique involved. Come see what music is all about! My hope is that I can show you just how fun music can be! I believe that you can learn music if you want to and that you are NEVER too old to learn!
