Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great day so far. A little bit about myself - I am currently in the third year of my Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Northwestern University with a concentration in Piano Performance, and will be teaching an undergraduate Aural Skills course this year at Northwestern University. I graduated from Rice University with my Master's of Music and the Manhattan School of Music with my Bachelor of Music. I am a concert pianist, as well as a professional figure skater. I have toured with the production Holiday On Ice in Europe, performing both as a figure skater and a live musician.

More importantly though, I have a passion for teaching and love to help my students improve. There is nothing more satisfying than communicating knowledge that I've learned to my students and see the progress build throughout the months of hard work. I have taken piano pedagogy courses throughout my undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies, and am comfortable with ...

About Vincent

Born and raised in New York City, pianist and figure skater Vincent Ip has completed a 35-city tour through Europe with Holiday On Ice. In the show “Time” (2016-2017), he showcased his passion and expertise on both the piano and the ice, performing at world-famous venues such as Le Lido in Paris

I worked with Vincent in person while he was living in Houston and these days we do lessons online. He is very encouraging in his teaching and has always provided great guidance and direction for a variety of repertoire. Would undoubtedly recommend him!

I am an adult piano student and needed some lessons before an audition. Vincent was a wonderful teacher- he was a great communicator, used our time efficiently, and was super easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend him as a teacher for students of any age or ability!

Perfect! Denise takes a very professional and friendly approach in teaching my child to play piano that's to provide a solid foundation for her in future. She is highly organised in preparing for her classes (blending music theory, concepts along with practical sessions) and my daughter looks forward to each class in learning new techniques and challenging playing practices. Highly recommend Denise!!!

Perfect! Denise is a very structured and methodical teacher. She loves music, which makes learning fun and entertaining. I would strongly her for any kind of piano classes.

My kid loves his weekly piano sessions with her. She has been really helpful in helping my child learn piano. Also, she encourages my son to perform on stage and has helped with his stage fright.

Private Piano Teacher

The beginner piano lessons are designed to develop your mechanical abilities on the piano and increase your understanding of the piano keyboard. I will teach you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique, and music theory, as well as how to practice effectively,

I've given successfully online lessons via TakeLessons Classroom and if you are interested here is a list with some of the advantages:
1. Quality of the teacher: I believe it is better to have online lessons with an excellent teacher than it is to have in-person lessons with a mediocre teacher. TakeLessons Classroom gives students even more options to choose from when looking for a teacher since they are not restricted to their small local region.
2. Weekly Convenience: Students don’t have to travel 10 or 20 minutes to their teacher’s studio.
3. Convenience of Recording Lessons: While students always have the option to record their face-to-face lessons, that never happens (at least, in the history of my teaching).

About Denise

I hold a Master's in Voice Performance degree from University of New Orleans and Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from State Music Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2001, I toured with International European Opera Company which performed numerous times in Denmark, France, Italy and USA.

Very passionate about piano and able to convey ideas.. also very good at feeling out what student is seeking to achieve. Definitely recommend Paul if you are wanting to take playing piano as a serious endeavor
Arthur
My experience with this teacher was horrible. Paul has no patience for a child that might not pay attention as much as necessary. He has forgotten what it is to be a child or how to win over a child and make a lesson fun.
My child had one previous lesson with Paul. It is true that she was not following his directions and his frustration was quite obvious.
On my second visit I was appalled by Paul’s behavior. Again my child wouldn’t sit down on the bench correctly. Verbatim this what occurred next, I quote: “This is not going to work out. Get out of my house NOW, NOW!(Screaming, like I was going to prolong this). I have better things to do than waste my time with your daughter. I don’t want to take your money.

It is true that my daughter can be difficult when approached in an authoritarian manner. However, my daughter is not yet six and Paul brought my daughter to tears. Surely this behavior was at best inappropriate and says more about the person Paul is than about my daughter. A simple “ May I have word with you in private” would be a mature way to part company. Not throwing a 6 year out of your house because you are frustrated. I was horribly offended by his manner and attitude. No way to treat a 6 year old.

This man has no patience with young kids. I would stay away from this teacher unless your child has some experience with piano. Definitely not child friendly.
Normally I do not post reviews unless something extraordinary happens This is one of those: extraordinarily bad.
An apology is in order if this poor excuse for a “teacher” has any understanding of the unnecessary hurt he has caused.

I have had two piano lessons and I look forward to my next lessons with Kenneth. Kenneth is engaging, professional, knowledgeable and passionate about teaching.
