Do you like Japanese language? Culture? fashion? food?
I'm a native Japanese who loves and is passionate many things about Japan.
I lived in Japan for first half of my life and have been living in USA another half.
I learned English from beginner level when I came to US and went through hard time learning a foreign language myself, so I can understand what would be the best way for you to learn with your language level.
I've been helping my friends and taught Japanese online.
I'm very patient and natural listener, so I will create my lessons customized from your personalities, goals, and language levels.
I'm also open to advise most things about Japan other than language.
I'm very flexible, easy to talk to and love to talk to people from all over the world.
I would like to help you learn what you are interested about Japan to reach your goals.
Let's have a fun and learn Japanese or about Japan together!

I'm a first generation half-Japanese American currently living in Boston, MA! I spent my childhood surrounded by Japanese language and culture, followed by 7 years of formal language training, culminating in a Japanese language minor at the University of Washington. My thesis focused on the manifestation of gender in Japanese performing arts.
Growing up bilingual, I understand the difficulty of trying to juggle two languages! Whether you want to learn a new language, or simply want to brush up on your Japanese skills, I am always happy to be of help! Lessons include reading, writing, listening, translating literature, and speaking (polite, casual, and formal styles). I use the Genki and Tobira books and also like to introduce students to classic and modern Japanese literature as a way to enhance the students’ cultural knowledge. I welcome beginning and intermediate Japanese students!
About Mona
I'm an active flutist and Japanese enthusiast currently living in Boston, MA! I hold degrees in Flute Performance from New England Conservatory and the University of Washington, and recently completed my Fulbright year at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. I believe that learning music shou

My lessons would generally be broken into parts to maximize concentration.
1. Student talks about a previously assigned topic using prepared material. I would listen, ask questions about contents, and make notes on language problems. Then I would explain problem areas and conduct focused drills.
2. Depending on the student’s level, progress and goals, I will introduce a language point to introduce and practice. It may be the vocabulary for a given topic or a few useful grammatical expressions.
3. If these exercises suggest a topic for the next lesson, we would talk about it in general terms, ideally checking where the student needs to work in order to discuss the topic. Of course the topic and the language will depend on the students and events of the day. The student will prepare to talk about the topic next time.
