I make learning the clarinet FUN! Any student of clarinet has the ability to succeed – either on a personal level, a professional level or both. I try different ways to get the student motivated, especially beginners! I have taught children with special needs and learning disabilities. My enthusiasm for life spills out into my teaching. For the high school clarinetists, I prepare them for competitions, chair placements, or simply for pleasure. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to enable a student to access that inner expression and allow them to grow not only as a clarinetist but also as a person.

About Barbaraann

Barbaraann, originally from Rochester, NY is a clarinet teacher and a professional clarinetist/bass clarinetist in Marietta, GA. She has a Masters in Music from Music Bowling Green University (OH), a Bachelor of Music DePaul University (IL) and studied abroad at the Bern Conservatory of Music (Ber

Such an amazing clarinetist, teacher, and person!

I play flute in the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra with Barbaraann and enjoy every minute of it! It is truly an honor and a THRILL to be able to play with her, like catching a wave! She is great with people of all ages and has literally never met a stranger. Barbaraann's playing and passion for teaching will inspire you to tackle learning an instrument for the first time, or take your playing to the next level!

Barbaraann is a really amazing teacher! She helped me to improve as a clarinet player, making certain skills I once thought to be difficult to learn become really easy, and with those skills I was able to accomplish a lot. She is my absolute favorite clarinet teacher, and I 100% would recommend taking classes with her!

All students, regardless of experience level will have opportunities to play engaging music that aligns with their interests, and that also reinforces the fundamental techniques of playing the clarinet at a high level. Additionally, in music there is no one set path forward towards success. To that end, I work with each student individually at a pace they are comfortable with, to create an approach to playing the clarinet that takes what they have already learned and builds upon it to advance their musical knowledge and technical ability on the instrument.

I am an orchestral clarinetist, K-12 music teacher and home school parent offering Christian clarinet lessons to students ages 10 and older. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA, a Master of Arts in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and I have studied with teachers who graduated from Julliard and Manhattan School of Music. I have also been influenced by the teaching style and signature sound of clarinetist David Weber, as well as Russian and Slavic traditions of teaching, all of which emphasize the art of clarinet playing - the combination of proper technique with fluent, beautiful musicality. I have a passion to help my students enjoy making music for the glory of God and offer lessons which are fun and inspiring!

My name is Andrea Trudeau. I am a homeschooling mother of four. We have been homeschooling for almost twenty years. It has been such a journey, learning and improving as we go. One great addition to our homeschooling is music. My children have all played instruments and sang in choirs. Driving around to all these activities was taxing at times. When we met David Knizewski and learned that he taught clarinet lessons online, I was interested, but skeptical. I liked the idea of not having to drive to one more activity, but I wondered how the quality of the lesson would be. Well, it has been working out wonderfully. It feels as though David is in the room. His warmth and charisma flow through the computer! David is a skilled teacher. He is able to explain and demonstrate even though it is all over the computer. I don’t know how he does it, but he does. Another blessing to doing this type of lessons is that we never had to stop, due to COVID-19. We were able to continue with the lessons, uninterrupted. I highly recommend it!
Libby
He is a very enthusiastic teacher who puts a lot of time and effort into the lessons. He breaks challenging things down in a way that is easy to understand and is very patient. I highly recommend him!
Lisa
I first met David Knizewski when he was hired as the music teacher at our PS-12 private school, Wakefield Country Day School. What I loved most about David as a teacher was that he respected his students enough to expect the best from them and also to expose them to the fundamentals of music theory and rich timeless classics and classical pieces. There seems to be a trend today to dumb things down in an attempt to always make make learning "fun." David helped the students understand that there is a deeper joy to be found in stretching themselves to put forth their best effort in learning these more challenging pieces and appreciating the beauty that results in doing something well. No matter how cringe-worthy (in some cases) the result might have been for these budding musicians, David always beamed with pride in their doing their very best. On a personal note, David was the first person who noticed that our daughter had a special talent for vocal performance. She was in elementary school at the time, and as her non-musical mother, this was difficult for me to perceive. He worked with her to help her develop good singing habits. She has had a number of voice teachers since those days and today she is double majoring in vocal performance and speech and hearing sciences in her freshman year in college. I wonder sometimes if we would have invested in her gift that has brought joy to so many, if David had not been such an encouragement to her in those early days. He also worked with my son personally with instruction in Clarinet. I was amazed at how much he learned in a very short time.
