I have been involved in several productions, and have extensive acting experience. I am able to help my students study their characters, and realize a wide range of acting choices.
I teach all aspects of acting for the camera and the stage including:
The Artistic Side: script analysis, character choices, specificity, strong objectives & verbs, being in the moment, spontaneity, connection, intuition, imagination, taking risks, and audition technique for both on-camera and for theatre.
The Psychological Side: dealing with anxiety & stage fright, listening skills, focus & concentration, trusting yourself, being vulnerable, tapping into and expressing all emotions.
The Business Side: career advice, goal setting, getting an agent, developing your niche, marketing materials, union vs. non-union, promoting yourself & networking.
I've been teaching acting for 20+ years and my students have gone on to perform on both amateur and professional theatre. Within a few lessons, you'll be able to improve your performance, and over time you'll be able to build on my technique. I specialize in public speaking & theater, typically using scripts or speeches my students bring, but I have a library if needed. Lessons typically do not require any additional equipment. I love working with students of all ages & experience levels.
