I am a classically trained musician who loves playing around with pop and jazz in her spare time. My philosophy is that I will teach whichever genre will inspire the student to sit down and practice!

I consider myself to be a harpist but most importantly, a great musician. I will encourage you to become the best harpist and musician you would like to become, and l will tailor my teaching to your learning style. Whether you are taking lessons for fun or are disciplined and serious, you will be continuously improving while feeling challenged. My 10 years of piano study and 8 years of flute background helped me advance quickly at the harp while starting at the age of 16.

About Adrienne

Why and how did I get into taking harp lessons? Well, as a young girl, I remember being mystified by the harp in Fantasia and when I was in high school, my dad found a teacher. After the first lesson, I was hooked and the rest is history! My 10 years of piano study and 8 years of flute background helped me advance quickly at the harp while starting at the age of 16. I began my higher education at Penn State University where I entered as a flute major because I was not quite at the advanced level of harp that was required at the college level. However, after playing principal harp with the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble, I realized harp to be my true calling and switched my major instrument. I graduated from Penn State in 2009 with a BA Music degree and ...

Adrriene welcomed me into her very neat, well-lit and cozy house, and into an overall comfortable atmosphere. She was very warm and patient, and took my personal musical goals in mind. (I'm not planning to become a concert harpist, but to learn to play and enjoy the 19-string celtic harp that my wife bought me as a gift, and perhaps play in church.) With this in mind, she took off with the first lesson with a song that I've been wanting to learn for a very long time, and made it into an exercise. I should now, with a two-week time gap for practice, be able to learn to correctly position my fingers and pluck the strings with a clear and crisp sound. Looking forward to my second lesson.

great teacher for young students

Adrienne is a wonderful music teacher. She makes music easily accessible to young children (and their tone deaf parents). She is very patient, organized, and responsible. We highly recommend her.

I've been teaching Celtic harp since 2002 and can help any level of player learn skills and progress. I do teach by ear, as is traditional for Celtic music, though if you'd like to learn to read music I can help you learn that as well. I've had students as young as 5 and as old as mid 80's, and enjoy any age student! It's important to me that as you're learning skills, you're also having fun doing it. : )

About Eala

I teach Celtic harp (not concert harp) in the traditional style (aurally--meaning by ear--so no sheet music!). Learning to play harp is so much fun (and it's also a lot of fun to teach!). I would consider my teaching style to be relaxed, while still helping students to gain skills and confidence. We will move at your pace! I've developed my own teaching techniques for making it a satisfying experience all the way around. Prepare to laugh a lot as you're learning! I believe music should be a soft spot in the lives of any who choose to pursue it. I also do vocal coaching (I was a double major in vocal performance and music education), and have developed my own teaching techniques that are especially focused on overcoming difficult passages, notes, breaks in voice, etc. Having ...
