Music theory is very important to me in understanding the guitar and music. Took numerous classes in music theory and scored a perfect score in all levels.

About Ben
Hello, my name is Ben and GUITAR IS MY BUSINESS...AND MY BUSINESS IS GOOD so please consider me. I've been playing guitar for over 18 years and have been in playing bands for 12 years. Recently after the band broke up, I decided to further my education and went to Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. There I was taught by the best guitar players in the world. Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Tommy Emmanuel and Johnny Hiland were just a few of the great players who gave clinics there. I received a degree in Guitar Performance and the knowledge I received there made me UNDE
RSTAND the mystery that is the guitar.

I can teach Rock/Metal, Country (lead and rhythm), Blues, Alternative, Acoustic, Classical, Chord Melody, Melodic Soloing, Twang, Chords, Scales, Modes, Many different lead and rhythm techniques and more importantly any song you want to go over.

I feel learning to play your favorite songs is the most important and the most fun about guitar playing. After playing songs, some of the information given (scales, chords, theory, ear-training) starts to make some since and you begin to slowly figure the guitar out.

Theory and Ear-training I feel are very important to learn when trying to understand music. It just gives you a basic mathematical way of understanding how music works. It can be very frustrating to learn and takes some time to sink in so if you don't want to learn it then that is great. Ear-training is cool because when you start to understand it you can actually hear music and not just listen to it. You can listen to a chord progression on the radio and go home and play it and also improvise over it.

I encourage BEGINNERS through EXPERT to at least hear what I have to say. I have A LOT of information to give about the guitar. I played for ten years made 2 demo CDs, one full length album, another demo specifically for Metal Blade Records, was in a big cover band and so I thought I knew it all and was a great guitar player. Then I went to GUITAR SCHOOL in Hollywood and reality hit me.
I wasn't as good as I thought. When you hear the best guitar players in the world everyday for a year and a half like I did at Musicians Institute it makes you want to be better and practice, practice, practice. I learned everything there about guitar and music and I know the Right way to teach.

Please consider me for your guitar teacher I will make it fun and a good learning experience as well.

Thank you,
Ben

*** Lesson Details ***
It depends on what level the student is on and that is where we will go with the lesson. If you are a beginner we will start with the very basics. I try to make it to where you can easily understand everything taught. The most important part of the lesson is you are having fun with playing the guitar and also getting as much information as possible. Upper level students may want to go over a song they are learning or want to know about theory or chords. Usually we will talk about where you are at with your playing and then go from there.

Thanks.

*** Studio Equipment ***

*** Specialties ***

Yana Giles has been the best piano teacher I have ever taken lessons from out of all 5 teachers I've had. She is patient, encouraging and motivational through every piece she assigns me. My appreciation for music grew an enormous amount after beginning lessons with her. My hand technique improved, as well as performance ability. I recommend her to anyone looking to learn the piano! Even if you have already learned the piano and wish to improve somehow, Yana will show you a new understanding of music that you never thought you could have.

Great teacher

My teacher is very knowledgeable, yet she is able to teach beginner music. She has not only taught me to read notes, she has told me a lot of history about the instrument and lots of music. I think she is the very best!!!!

Michael is great guitar instructor, he always starts out wiith asking if I have any questions about previous lessons or assignments. Michael is great about teaching me better ways of playing something to break bad habits I taught myself and he explains the guitar theory if you want to learn that as well.
I renewed my lessons and would recommend Michael for any level of player.

I have been teaching lessons on various instruments since 1999. My music theory background is extremely thorough, and my instrument lessons have a strong basis in theory. Music theory lessons generally require the use of a keyboard, but the knowledge can be applied to any instrument or voice!

About Rosanna
Please note: I am only able to accept new students requesting lesson times prior to 3pm on weekdays. Thanks!

I have been teaching music students since my high school years in the late 1990s. Although I am primarily a high-level clarinetist, I have developed strong piano skills and can "double" on several other woodwinds. My primary clarinet/woodwind teacher at university was Alex Fields, who studied with renowned woodwind pedagogue and method writer Himie Voxman. I consider myself a "second-generation" Voxman student! Mr. Fields' influence pervades my teaching style, as he was a master of u
sing creative methods to gain the desired effect. The university I attended is known for its high-quality music degree programs. Over my 20+ years of performance experience, I've played in a huge variety of situations; from unaccompanied soloist to piano accompanist to church praise band to full orchestra and community band. This has given me an integrated understanding and appreciation for various styles and types of music.

I am known among my students for my patience, flexibility, and ability to individualize my style. I teach primarily from a traditional classical background and take students in the direction of the genre(s) they want to pursue. I teach all of my students, and particularly my pianists, about chords to give them the resources to read lead sheets and improvise at more advanced levels. I try to combine the best elements of different styles to build versatile musicians who are intrigued rather than intimidated by new concepts. Everyone gets sight reading and ear training instruction. I incorporate technology, such as mobile apps, to help students master concepts. I lay these foundations early, tailoring my methods to each student's unique learning style and goals. I teach to help each student reach their own potential, to better themselves, to give back to their communities, and to appreciate and enjoy music for the rest of their lives. Music instruction is proven to sharpen the mind for all ages, and is especially beneficial to those with cognitive issues. I worked in healthcare for many years, and this experience makes its way into my teaching style as well.

Safety: I request that another person be somewhere in the home during lessons for all children under 18 and for all male students.

Practice: I expect students to practice regularly and I teach them how to practice well! With younger students I use a record-keeping system encouraging 5 weekly practice sessions of a length proportional to attention span.
