I could not recommend her enough!!!! Pepina has made re-learning the violin easy and stress free! She is very patient and a great teacher. I played as a young child and wanted to relearn as an adult. I was very intimidated and nervous about re-learning. However, with the help of Pepina it has been enjoyable and very fun!

Analyzing a piece of music is almost like solving a puzzle. The only difference is, this puzzle often has multiple solutions. This is what makes music theory a special subject because for many composers who created pieces before modern day music theory, we are merely guessing their intentions but have no definitive answer. The only way to master this puzzle-solving process is repetition, repetition, and more repetition. Teaching students how to first dinstinguish the pieces of the puzzle from one another, then learn to break them down, takes time and patience. The most important task for the tutor is to let the student work through the puzzle with minimal interjections so they can understand how each piece fits together and enjoy the mystery of theory and analysis.

From those who are currently learning an instrument, to those who have learned by ear and want to enhance their knowledge, everyone can benefit from music theory lessons. Aside from the basics, I like to introduce theoretical concepts and analysis into the pieces or songs my students are already learning, so they have a deeper understanding of what it is they're playing or singing.

I made the switch from in-studio to online piano lessons with Gabbi and couldn’t be more impressed with how seamless the transition has been. She has been helping me learn the fundamentals of technique and theory and is very good at creating a challenging yet supportive learning environment. She’s also good at helping me to choose pieces to learn that are within my abilities but still enjoyable to play. My playing has improved a ton in just a few lessons thanks to her guidance. Highly recommend!

My first lesson was a real happy one, I was nervous and stressed about starting. Ms. Stephanie was very pleasant, explained things so I could comprehend it., she was strong in confidence yet happy in mild in teaching style. I’m very hopeful I will learn a lot from this brilliant teacher.

I am an adult beginner violinist. When I first met Stephanie, I had barely touched a violin, but I was determined to learn how to play it. With her help and patience, I am progressing through the Suzuki method as well as doing ear training and music theory. Stephanie is an excellent musician as well as instructor! Her method of teaching keeps the students engaged, encouraged and excited about learning music from all sides of it.
Naomi G.
I strongly recommend Ms. Quinn. She is amazing. I love a teacher who is passionate about what she does and Ms. Quinn has motivated me to love the violin and work harder to improve. She is slightly strict but very patience and kind, always pushing you to work hard and do your best. I learned to play violin a few years ago as a beginner and stopped playing for a few years. I was nervous to begin online violin lessons considering that I learn better face to face. However, Ms. Quinn has done an amazing job at teaching me, I have been taking lessons with her for a year now and have learned so much I didn’t know before which has also grown my love for violin.

"Jillian's really smart and nice

I started taking lessons with Jillian around when i started high school a couple years ago. I play french horn in school, and I'm considering studying music in college, so I definitely needed to know more music theory. I play guitar too, so we started studying songwriting, too, so that I can write some songs with my band. Jillian's so nice, and really smart, so she makes it really easy to learn! I really like classes with her."

"Well, I can say that when we met 24 years ago, I've never seen anyone playing the bass guitar as good as he did, I still remember him playing that beautiful six string bass guitar along with a drummer... I was just trying to catch up with those two ... it was just rehearsal and they didn't need a me as keyboard player , just the slap bass solo was enough for me to step down and watch, I learned a lot just by listening to him. He was a very patient teacher and his musical knowledge was amazing,"

How to Change the Key of a Song With and Without a Computer

What Does it Mean to Change a Key? To change a song’s “key” means to shift the whole musical system to a higher or lower position. This process is called “transposition.” Performers often need transpose a song to better fit their voices. That way, a performer with a naturally lower singing voice (like myself) will be able to more comfortably sing a song that was originally written for someone with a naturally higher voice. Or vice versa.  For singers, transposition feels fairly …
