I currently work with kids from middle school through high school. I’m able to teach a beginner or the more advanced young percussionist and this has allowed me to be analyze a wide range of problems that typical beginners have and how to carry them confidently to the high school level and of course past the high school level since i’m a lifelong learner myself and a gigging percussionist.

No matter how young or old it’s never to late to learn the art of drums.

About Marcus

No drums are not easy and Yes it will take a lot of effort. If you’re looking for someone that will lie to you and tell you this will be easy and that you have nothing to worry about then you need to find someone else. You’ll get frustrated, might feel like giving up, some days you will go to bed t

I vary students’ lessons with their interests and find the best teaching methods and practices to fit their needs. Because I believe everyone is different and unique. No one can stop you on learning anything but yourself. Therefore, I want students to focus on every lesson and have to practice outside of class which are required and important. Playing music is fun but learning takes time!!

I help incredibly creative people to move forward in their careers, and to unleash their projects and their visions.

With artists, talent is rarely the issue. In fact, everyone I work with has it in spades. The challenge is making a vision concrete and overcoming fears while finding ways to not only do your creative work, but to put it out there into the world.

The key is to have the right strategy and perspective, so you can handle both the challenges and success that come your way.

As someone who has over 30 years of experience producing, directing & choreographing theatrical & media productions, touring worldwide, consulting for leading entertainment companies & teaching privately and at numerous universities, I get it—I know how hard it gets when you’re trying to survive and you’re juggling so many balls.

It’s easy to get discouraged, to feel burnout and not be sure of the path ahead when you feel like you’re in this all alone.

Here’s where I come in:

I have so much to say about Gail that I will use all of my ability to condense it in to a few sentences.
Firstly I want to say yes…she is the best coach out there. Gail put me….no allowed me to choose a path..and helped me direct myself all along the hills and valleys to achieve my goal. Which Gail also helped me discover. Its all in you, you just need someone persceptive, knowledgeable and kind to travel the road with you.
So glad I chose Gail.

Gail has been so important to me this past year.
I was going through a difficult period in between jobs and Gail helped me keep focused on my strengths and stay positive throughout the process.

She is able to recognize the best qualities in you and helps you use them in the most kindest and positive way. Every time I discuss a challenge she turns it around and helps me see the opportunity involved in it.
Being coached by Gail is enlightening !
Terry
Gail is my go-to person for issues related to my art business. She's a great listener, but she's also really good at re-framing my perspective on the issue and coming up with creative solutions. She's very encouraging and helps me to feel motivated to take the next step. I'm so fortunate to have found Gail to work with!

I have experience teaching in a variety of settings level students. I am currently teaching students as a private teacher and I helped some of my students’ audition for San Diego youth symphony and school orchestra assignments. I also have experience not only teaching young musicians in a small group system also performing and playing as a cellist of chamber ensembles and orchestra.
As a music teacher, it is my goal that I want to give back the rich knowledge that I have received during my studies. I want to use my education and knowledge gained from SDSU to help students obtain a proper and valuable education. I desire to see young musicians refine and expand their passions and talents in music and use them to touch the lives of others.

Rachel can really see where our son is at with his knowledge of the cello. She was quick to set up a plan for his lessons and at home practice. She keeps him on track the whole lesson and that’s great because our son is easily distracted.

"Couldn't have asked for more!

We found Jessica through the Suzuki Association Directory. I was looking for a teacher that taught through the Suzuki method and she ended up being a perfect fit for my VERY energetic son. Patient, flexible (lessons in our home), laidback and even willing to drop by on her free time to fix a few broken strings and stray bridges
We could definitely hear my sons progress after each lesson...very pleased and would definitely recommend!!! :-)"

"Although it was the first lesson , It is obvious Ben is very good on teaching. His approach is totally according to student's needs and level (it is very important!) He is very kind person and explains the things very well .My 13 years old daughter liked his teaching so much. Most important for us,was He does not start with boring cliches which you can find anywhere in the planet . You start to play with Ben from the first lesson. He is also very cooperative and flexible and open for the new ideas and requests. I strongly recommend him for all level guitarists , especially who already knows a few things and wants to improve to next level . Regards"

"Danielle is amazing!

I took singing lessons with Danielle for about a year. She is a fantastic teacher with a ton of experience!! Danielle does an excellent job meeting her students where they are at and working from there to build vocal skills and confidence. Danielle really cares about what it is you are looking for in a singing lesson experience, which is awesome :) She really tailors the lessons to reflect each student. She is flexible and able to work with children, teens, and adults on accomplishing their particular vocal goals. Danielle is so full of heart and passion, anyone who is lucky enough to be her student feels her commitment to being an excellent teacher and support for you. Take vocal lessons with Danielle, you won't regret it!"

Guitar for Kids: 5 Best Childrens' Guitar Books

Guitar books can be a great help for kids who are interested in guitar lessons. Guitar teacher Matthew K. shares five of his favorite guitar books for younger students... The guitar is an instrument that has to be learned by doing. During my experience as a guitar teacher, I've found it essential to use a book for kids ages six to ten. Books can keep the student on track, but should not be the only teaching method used. It's important to keep lessons fun and interesting with songs and riffs t …
