About Millie
Hola,

I'm a Spanish professor and tutor. I received my Masters degree in Spanish/Education in 1999. I have been teaching Spanish at some local universities: USF, HCC and FSC for quite some time (20 yrs). I have also taught Middle School and High School.

I am an author of a Spanish grammar book for beginner students which it also includes 5 CD's. This book has been used in Continuing Education classes at USF and HCC. I also use it in my tutoring.

I love to teach Spanish and see that my students learn this beautiful language. Students say that I am very patient and explain Spanish concepts very clear - easy to understand.

I'll be happy to help you either in person or online.

Thank you,
Millie

Ps: I'm not teaching elementary or middle school kids at this time.

Doing what I love: teaching, training, interacting with people. I retired from the army after 28 years of active and reserve military service, so now I have time to do privately what I did for the army for so many years: teach and train people. For many years I presented seminars in Spanish and English in Central and South America as well as the Caribbean on many subjects to adults of all ranks. I am a Florida State Certified Spanish teacher. My Bachelor's degree is in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, and I hold minors in History and French. I am (since 1993) a financial adviser (stock broker, RIA) and a licensed insurance agent, which is my other passion and area of expertise. This tutoring for me is not a job; it is a passion, just another way I do what I love - teaching, advising and interacting with people. I
f this sounds like what you want, hope to hear from you soon.

About Patrizia
Ciao! My name is Patrizia, and I’m originally from Firenze in Italy. I currently live between Florida, UK and Italy, where I teach Italian to English speakers.
I enjoy teaching my language and learning new things from my students, experiencing new cultures.
I love pass you on nuances, I enjoy teaching the real Italian, the one spoken in Italy, and discover the differences with the one written on books.
I do not have a degree, I have lots of experience teaching the language. I have been running up to 8 classes in adult education, covering any level from beginner to advanced. I'm a real person and I understand very well the weak points (i had to go trough them when learning English) and I know how to overcome them.
My teaching style? Tailor made! I teach the Italian that is relevant to YOU and what you want to achieve.
We will have fun du
ring our lessons, but we will also work hard to achieve your goals.
Learning a language is like an orchestra, it works with several instruments. Therefore, not only grammar, but also vocabulary, listening (ouch!) and speaking with a nice pronunciation. Listening exercises, yes, they are very important for your future ability of interacting with Italians.
I will also explain the Italian grammar in English, unless you are at an advanced level.

About Erida
I'm a passionate tutor of Spanish language. I'm currently working as a Spanish professor at St. Petersburg College and Florida Southern College. I offer Spanish classes at all levels and in different areas of expertise, and I’m also an experienced translator.

I hold a Doctorate Degree in Spanish Linguistics and Translation from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, with a CUM LAUDE distinction. I have been awarded two academic honors of “Golden Medal” in recognition of outstanding academic achievement with regards to my Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Spanish Philology.

Additionally, I have successfully completed various specialization courses and trainings in Spanish Language and Culture arranged by Spanish universities.

I have expertise in a variety of disciplines such as: Spanish Linguistics, Translation, Spanish Lan
guage and Culture, Latin-American Civilization and Spanish for specific purposes.

As a teacher, my philosophy is to provide students with a friendly and supportive atmosphere in order to help them boost their confidence in learning a new language. I feel that students can benefit from my first-hand experience of Spanish language and Hispanic culture. I am thoroughly familiar with the Spanish culture, since I lived in Spain for more than 4 years and during my stay in the multi-cultural Colegio Mayor Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe residence in Madrid, I’ve had the chance to acquire a vast knowledge of Spanish as well as Latin-American culture.

I am not the kind of teacher who believes in a single perfect teaching technique or is anchored to textbooks; I always struggle to find innovative ways that address the different needs of my students, spark their interests as well as stimulate their analytical and critical thinking skills.

My goal is to help my students to rise to their full potential, to transfer my passion and enthusiasm to them and to provide inspiration to fuel their pursuits.

So, if you are an elementary, middle, high school or university student trying to keep up with your classes, to raise your grades or to perform better on Spanish tests or an adult willing to become fluent in conversational Spanish, to learn Spanish for business, tourism or any other specific purpose, or to get acquainted with Spanish language and culture, we can devise a strategy that will fit your needs and wishes.

About Barbara
Thank you very much for your interest in my profile. My name is Barbara, I was born and raised in Germany and worked for 15 years as a Training and Quality Executive in the hotel industry, one of the companies being The Ritz-Carlton, one of the best training companies in the world. I was a public speaker for The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg and provided quality and service training sessions for German companies such as Audi and Siemens. I was also in charge of all in-house training sessions, spent up to 20 hours per week in a classroom environment and was chosen as a Property Opening Trainer for The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin. I transferred with The Ritz-Carlton from Berlin, Germany, to Miami in 2005. I enjoyed working as an Executive at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach until 2009, when I got married and had my daughter.

I decided to fully homeschoo
l my now nine-year old daughter for two years, who, as a result, is fluent in German in both speaking and writing. We moved to NYC in 2013 and I was approved by and followed the official NYC Department of Education guidelines for homeschooling. I joined a weekly after-school program at my church in NYC, taught in English, for Grades 1 to 6 as a tutor in 2014 and have been the director since 2015. I work remotely, with a team of eight volunteers and we assist between 8 to 12 children every week. We focus on Common Core English Language Arts - spelling, writing, reading, and Elementary Math. My family and I just relocated to Florida - Tampa this time - and we are enjoying the sun!

My husband is of Japanese origin. Being in an interracial marriage and raising a child in a household where multiple languages are spoken, I truly appreciate and understand the importance of learning about different cultures and languages. I asked my daughter and my students how they would describe my teaching style. They said: "Fun, never boring, we learn a lot and play games, a little strict sometimes but in a good way." My after-school kids do come back every week and enjoy the program, that makes for a good reference, I would say.

Having tutored for many years and being a language student myself (intermediate Japanese), I know how to keep students interested in learning - and I love to work with different materials such as games, books, worksheets and role play to keep it interesting and motivating. I spend some time in Germany each year and purchase new and stimulating learning materials on a regular basis. If you are interested in beginner or advanced German lessons for yourself or your child, I am looking forward to meeting you, either in person or online!
