Hi there!

My name is Orla and I love singing and teaching others to sing! I began my vocal training at the age of 12 learning how to sing classical and musical theater music. I eventually went on to learn jazz and rock vocal techniques before going to Berklee College of Music in Boston where I learned how to sing celtic music and alternative contemporary styles.

The most important thing to me when working with singers of any age or ability is helping them learn the correct techniques to keep their voices safe and healthy while singing. With this strong foundation, my students will be able to achieve almost any style or level of singing they desire. It is totally possible to stretch your vocal range, learn a new style, or incorporate movement into your songs if you simply use the correct and healthy vocal techniques!
I also make s
ure to focus a lot on confidence and stage presence to help students prepare for upcoming auditions, showcases, concerts, and talent shows. With my voice lessons it is absolutely possible to transition out of your stage fright and own that stage like you were born to be there, because you were!! Nicole is a fantastic teacher with a genuine desire to help. She will teach you how to gain a further understanding of each pose and give you tiny tweaks on how to go deeper. I am a yoga instructor and an ex-circus performer. I trained strength, flexibility and aerial arts and performed with a professional circus from the age of 8. As I got older, I started teaching circus arts to both children and adults. My body hurt, though, from years of rough use and the performance lifestyle.

I took up Yoga in 2010 and fell in love immediately! I found that it relieved the pain of old injuries and forced me to even out my body after a life time of asymmetric use in performances. Despite my strength and flexibility from years of circus arts, Yoga managed to find small, stabilizing muscles that I had been neglecting. I have never felt stronger or healthier in my body than I do now!

The emotional side of Yoga was what I didn’t expect. At first, it brought up a lot of unresolved emotions as I was forced to sit quietly wit
h myself and confront the tension held in my body. Over time I have begun to work through those physical and emotional barriers, and have even been able to find words for them. As a result, I find myself to be happier in general and to suffer from less anxiety.

This amazing practice has had so many benefits for me and my clients, and I want nothing more than to share it with the world! No matter what your age or physical capabilities, you have so much to gain from connecting with your body and your breath. I can’t wait to practice with you!
