Courtney has been such an inspirational teacher. She has taken me from absolute zero to feeling like I can actually do something with confidence now. This during only two lessons. Courtney has a very gracious and friendly teaching style with me which I find very patient and comforting while learning something challenging.

Private Knitting Teacher

Having been a knitter for 14 years now I’ve taught individual/private lessons and in group settings. From cables to color work, I’ve covered just about everything you could ask for. I’m a continental knitter and can show multiple ways to tension your working yarn (often a struggle for new knitters). I’m able to teach beginner to intermediate and have advanced skills for those wanting to push themselves. Knowing how to read your knitting is important for all skill levels so I encourage that no matter where you are in your knitting journey.

As a fiber artist I’ve created my own patterns as well. I’m not just a knitter. I’ve been spinning for 12 years and weaving for 2.

About Liz

I'm an avid fiber artist with over a decade of experience in knitting and spinning. I'm experienced in multiple techniques and encourage learning new ones. I practice what I preach and work on my own education. with various courses, both in person and online. My favorite way of teaching is by pick

Private Knitting Teacher

My youth was spent in Eastern Europe which meant cold winters. With that came mom’s teaching on how to make a scarf, a blanket, a coffee mug wrapper, socks and sweaters.
Though nowadays it may be counterproductive to knit, there is no better way to show someone you love than something that is handmade by you.
I’ll teach you what it takes to get started. Book your sessions now and let’s start knitting.

About Isabela

Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teachin

I am finishing my first set of lessons with Isabela. I can tell a big difference in how I am able to hear the language. Already, words pop into my head in French. I am pleased with how much I have learned already!
Susan
I have taken 7 lessons with Isabela. I can tell that my confidence is increasing and I am remembering more and more in French. I like how she includes written, verbal, and auditory (like YouTube) in our lessions.
Ahmed
I am completely very exciting with her because she explains everything to make it simple

From learning to cast on and work a knit stitch to understanding techniques like brioche, cables or mosaic, I believe knitting should be fun and enjoyable - not stressful - and is attainable by all!

"I consider myself an experienced knitter so was surprised to find myself stymied by reading a more difficult pattern. Amy is a pleasure to work with as well as an extremely skilled teacher. Her explanations are clear and in one case her diagram clarified my confusion. I learned, laughed, and left Amy having learned what I needed to learn. I am impressed with her and will call her again."

"We've had Dawn teach a variety of classes at the Simsbury Public Library (CT). Our most popular is the arm knitting class we open to Teens & Adults. Everyone gets to take home an infinity scarf and they all leave learning a new skill. Dawn works well with all ages, is patient, and really enthusiastic about teaching what she loves. We can't wait to have Dawn back to teach more classes this Fall!"

"I'm a beginner at knitting and Jane helped me with my first scarf, which I was able to finish in time to gift it to my partner for Christmas. I had turned a simple project into a complicated mess, and Jane showed me how to fix it. What a huge relief! She is so patient and kind, all in all, a great teacher. I highly recommend her!"
