I studied with various teachers in and out of college for five years, and have over a decade teaching hundreds of students, from the elementary levels to classical piano technique to jazz improvisation to pop piano to ragtime. You will be challenged and at the same time inspired to get the most out of your time with instrument!

The piano is one of the most beautiful sounding instruments, and I want to help you achieve every musical goal you have with it. We will go over note recognition, scales. rhythm, technique, performance and more!

I've been teaching piano and keyboard for over ten years. I've developed a unique, project-based to help the student understand and develop the skills necessary for piano and keyboard in today's world. I teach the fundamentals of music theory and technique first, and then allow the student to choose specific areas of focus.

Students will set goals as to what they want to learn on the piano. They will learn basic fundamentals of learning to play the piano. Rhythm, composing, and recording songs are also available. I teach how to to understand the musical relationship of the piano notes, chords and scales. This allows the student to enjoy the piano and have fun while doing so.

I have been teaching piano for the past few years. I enjoy working with beginning students and building up their skills from scratch. Lessons are a fun mix of piano fundamentals, such as reading notes and rhythms. I combine that aspect with learning new pieces and games that target other skills, like ear training and time feel. I also like having students apply their newfound skills to improvising and composing.
I take a structured and detailed approach in the lessons but still keep things fast-paced and enjoyable.

I am classically trained but I am versed in most genres of music and it my passion to share my joy of music with each and every student that I meet. I am an active vocal/piano performer and specialize in the styles of both classical and pop piano. I implement music reading, music theory and correct practice techniques while my students work on songs by artists THEY like! I also help with writing and have access to audio engineers for students interested in recording or songwriting. I want to help you be the pianist you want to be!
