I have art in galleries around the world. I have been teaching students for several years. Abstract painting is unique because you need to use your imagination in a different type of way. If you're ready to dive in and get out of your own way and get creative, I can help you to find that secret place in your brain where the creativity hides and let it roam free. We can learn techniques, and learn how to get inspiration. I can also teach what tools to use and why. Additionally, if you're interested in exploring mixed media, that is one of my favorite things. If you'd like to learn to create digital paintings or physical paintings, I can teach either.
I love art and I am passionate about making things beautiful. That spills over into Graphic design, Painting and more: I have 20+ years as a graphic designer, photographer 10+ years, artist/painter. I have been instructing for over 6 years. All of my artistic positions led me to run a print shop for several years so I know what you need to prep files for printing, photography, page layout, web and much more so that your files meet industry standards. If your a fast learner, I can go at a faster pace, if you need more time, I am fine with that too. My goal is for you to learn well, advance and put the skills I teach you to use. Then we will layer that info and move on. I'll incorporate reviewing what we worked on before in the future lessons. I want you to be able to put to practice what I teach you so that you can successfully manage on
your own in that area.
I love being outside, I love the water and get inspired by nature. I am not a camping type person but could sleep outside nightly (on a screened in porch, LOL). I love to enjoy life and want you to enjoy learning something new as well.
Nicole professionally layed out, designed, and printed the obituary of my husband using Adobe Photoshop. Her helpful, yet sensitive suggestions regarding picture arrangements on the pages of the obituary were appreciated. She was timely and easy to work with. I highly recommend her as an instructor.
Whether you are wanting to learn how to paint using acrylic paints because it is something you have always wanted to learn or you are looking to learn new techniques, I am here to guide you! Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be painting in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of color theory, drawing techniques, hand sight coordination techniques, and more. I have been painting for over fifthteen years in a variety of scales including large murals to small canvases. I am as eager to share basic to advance techniques as you are to learn. Self expression and painting techniques are a tool nobody can take from you once you have learned and embraced the art of painting. I have a degree in Art Practice from UC Berkeley and have taught 2nd grade students and adults as well. Let's get painting!
I am a professional working artist and I am also a site coordinator for an Expanded Learning program here in Riverside. I obtained a degree in Art Practice from UC Berkeley where I specialized in multimedia installations that included large scale paintings, sculptures, and original music/audio. Due to the versatility in my own work from large to very small scale paintings I have acquired techniques and skills for every scale in between. I am a strong believer in self expression and visual literacy which gets stronger with the formulation of concepts one builds through inspiration for each painting. I enjoy teaching and learning what my students' interests are and what motivates them. I can help you learn specific skills for abstract paintings to detailed portraits. Through research I have also learned that individua
ls benefit greatly from creative freedom thus performing better in other academic subjects, learning healthy ways of expression, and mentally feel fulfilled through the therapeutic effects of painting. If you are looking to work with someone who loves what they do, who is patient, motivational, and can teach you basic to advanced skills in painting, drawing, music, and Spanish send me a message and we can begin your learning journey!
The first lesson went very well with my daughter. Belinda was methodical in her teaching and approached the lesson with my daughter’s interest in mind. During the lesson, Belinda was able to actively engage my daughter the whole time, and more importantly, her teaching revived my daughter’s interest in drawing. She has already devised future plans to have my daughter practice sketching noses, eyes, and ears so that my daughter may draw the human face later with more realistic details.
I have more than 10 years of experience in teaching drawing and painting in university and college. I cover realistic style to abstract art with watercolor, oil, or acrylic. Also, you will learn a variety of techniques like glazing, impasto, and alla prima. subject matter can start with still life and continue architecture, landscape, and figurative art.
My name is Roya. I am a professional artist and educator, and I’m a professor in painting and drawing. It would be my pleasure to teach you painting or drawing. Over the last 10 years, I have taught painting and drawing, including figure drawing and painting courses in universities and colleges.
I’m using 2 different teaching strategy based on my students interest.
In the first plan, I start to teach from basic to advanced technique; my goal at the beginning stage is to provide students with enough skills and technique that they can skillfully begin making art from 3- dimensional sources, not just copying from other arts.
In the second path, I start teaching any subject or technique that my student prefer like pastel landscape or oil painting portrait.
I teach a variety of technique, medium and styles from realistic to abstract
Roya is a wonderfully energetic, hands on art teacher, who has moved my oil painting from mundane to lively & exciting. My lessons with Roya are such a pleasure. The lessons are geared toward helping me grow in areas I expressed a need for, as well as filling in weaknesses which her expertise recognizes need working on.

Great teacher!! She knows what she's talking about and teaches at your own pace.
I rather prefer to categorize this as mixed media modern freestyle since abstract went out of vogue in the late 1970's. You may call your work whatever you wish. When you have a lesson with me, I will offer you an artistic license all your own, and I can engage you in profession picture framing techniques as well. If you want to do this on the computer, well and good. One of my studio techniques is Adobe Suite and other similar art programs. What about the tools and techniques? I've faux-finished a few houses. Some would call it Venetian plaster technique, some might say it's sculptural, some might call it textural, some would adhere to the outdated slang of abstract. So this should signal to you that your painting has employment possibilities which extend off the canvas. I hope that's one reason you find this subject interesting. Another reason to paint is for the sheer meditative mindfulness and healthy perspective you will gain. See you there!
Join me for the creative unleashing of highly effective processes of learning success. Your instruction will include: A. creative problem solving (unleashing the genius within) B. formation; a foundation is planned (architect) C. building; drafts are written (carpenter) D. finishing; the writing is polished (finishing editor/proofreader) I've used these guiding principles countless times in my life. Just as a jeweler would not be able to sell rough stones, Jill would not have been able to make anything in the publishing field without employing these principles. Her college papers would have been fair to dull rocks. She can say this as the daughter of a bricklayer who was the son of a stonemason in a familial line that dates back to middle 1600. So, of course, I did learn about laying bricks and throwing rocks too. Not very many structures
stand the test of time when we throw rocks (rough drafts). Only with this brick, mortar, and finish will the building stand. But enough about my lineage. My capstone point is that the finishing point of any building or writing should communicate a great product. In creating this description I had the above principles in mind. My college papers, business papers, copywriting, web designs, resumes, and even informal conversations are inclusive of this process of which proofreading is a vital component. Why? Well, I might want to throw a rock at myself if I assume myself incapable of accomplishing as much. And as the daughter of a bricklayer, I think I know about bricks and buildings, and mortar, and capstones such as proofreading. So now at my concluding paragraph contains the capstone of what is called proofreading. Proofreading, as my gem of a teacher told me, is constructed with similar principles. It contains a precise methodology which assures great communication. I would like to involve you in this structure. Please step in the door so I may explain the steps involved in editing and proofreading as art, the elements and principles of Art and English as your toolkit, and design as your structured building of success!
I am an independent professional visual artist, with over 20 years' hands on teaching experience in U.S. and abroad. At the age of 13, I began learning how to paint with my father, who is an established artist, in an informal studio class. Later, I decided to pursue higher education in fine arts and received my BFA and MFA degrees. While working on my Bachelor’s degree, I began teaching in schools and later in my private studio. My expertise is to help others to discover their special talent, as I believe every person has a unique sense of creation. As an experienced art teacher and mentor, I have always provided a solid education for every one of my students and I have demonstrated an ability to engage students from diverse academic backgrounds and age groups. My goal is to develop an understanding of and enthusiasm for arts in others by addressing different learning styles. I demonstrate both traditional practices and contemporary critical and technical approaches to painting.

I would love to share this perspective with my students whenever possible.
