Abigail was an enthusiastic teacher who helped spread her love of the violin. She is classically trained and works on the fundamental skills a young violinist needs. Our child enjoyed her sense of humor as well.

My name is Barbara, I was born and raised in Germany and worked for 15 years as a Training and Quality Executive in the hotel industry, one of the companies being The Ritz-Carlton, one of the best training companies in the world. I was in charge of all in-house training sessions, spent up to 20 hours per week in a classroom environment and was chosen as a Property Opening Trainer for The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin. I transferred with The Ritz-Carlton to Miami in 2005. I enjoyed working as an Executive at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach until 2009, when I got married and had my daughter.

I decided to fully homeschool my ten-year old daughter for two years, who, as a result, is fluent in German in both speaking and writing. We moved to NYC in 2013 and I was approved by and followed the official NYC Department of Education guidelines for homeschooling. I joined a weekly after-school program at my church in NYC, taught in English, and have been the director since 2015. in 2019, my family and I

I'm a native German living in the United States so I'm able to communicate with you easily.

I've learned both the Berlitz method of teaching and teaching adults with the General Assembly method.

Berlitz Method: this lets you approach a new language in a natural fashion. In my classes you will speak and hear German the same way you would if you moved to Germany. It's an immersive experience.

General Assembly Teaching: I've been taught how to teach in an effective style that makes learning fun.

About Andrea

I'm a native German speaker who teaches German in the Berlitz Method and has been trained by General Assembly on how to teach to adults. This means you will learn German in a natural fashion. You will learn it as though you were in Germany. I will help you boost your self-confidence and motivation

I am born and raised in Germany and speak the language fluently.
Furthermore, I moved to the US 3 Years ago and I know the struggle with a new language very well therefore I am very respectful and insightful with my students.

Since I moved to the US I have an American girlfriend who is now able to talk german in a proper way only trough me teaching her. After being with me for that time she gained a lot of confidence and considers herself bilingual.

"Wolfgang is a wonderful, tutor, teacher and mentor. For quite awhile I have wanted to learn to speak German. Wolfgang has and continues to guide me toward my goal.

Wolfgang is very patient, flexible and understanding. He has adapted his lessons to best fit my way of learning. This is no simple task in itself. But Wolfgang has found a method of teaching that goes well beyond words and phrases. It strengthens my understanding of the culture. This is critical to successfully comprehending any language.

Wolfgang is a true Linguist. His expertise is far-reaching, not just in syntax or morphology, but in the history from which the language is born. This knowledge is indispensable and cannot be found elsewhere."
