About Rose
I graduated from the University of South Florida where I received my BA in Theatre performance & Communication with a minor in Dance. I trained at NYU with the Aquila acting company in classical theatre, and I also trained with TVI Acting studios in Los Angeles in Film and television.

My Music and Performance experience started when I was 6 singing in choir, school productions, and taking piano lessons. I continued on with group ensembles, musical theatre shows and later on touring with the Spanish Lyric Theatre in Both English and Spanish in throughout Florida after college.

I have been teaching one on one and group lessons for 15 years in various subjects, Including Music, Dance, Theatre, Academic Tutoring (Eleme
ntary/Middle School subjects: English, Writing, Reading, Math, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Learning Skills, Civics, French, and test preparations), and Culinary Lessons.

*for travel to location lessons please contact me prior to booking to check location and availability, due to designated areas I already have established teaching and only travel to.

Cooking Lessons I conduct online, and all subjects can be done online also.

I like the combination of relaxed and goal oriented. I like to get to know my students and learn about about expectations and goals they have for themselves. Then I set up a plan that will help them achieve their goals and get them closer to what they want from their lessons. I take into consideration their interest, style, and help them to find their unique learning style.

I do have some guidelines for parents and students. If the student is a minor, I ask that the parent be in the house for the lesson. I also ask that the lesson be performed in the Living room or Music Space.

My method is simple: it is tailored to your needs. If you wish to become fluent in the language in a certain amount of time, we develop a plan that is flexible but should achieve your goal in the available time. If all you want is for your child to get better grades, pass a class or other more limited goal, then we develop a simpler plan to achieve that. Learning another language is always achievable and not that difficult. Hope you try, let's learn!

About Leonardo
Doing what I love: teaching, training, interacting with people. I retired from the army after 28 years of active and reserve military service, so now I have time to do privately what I did for the army for so many years: teach and train people. For many years I presented seminars in Spanish and English in Central and South America as well as the Caribbean on many subjects to adults of all ranks. I am a Florida State Certified Spanish teacher. My Bachelor's degree is in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, and I hold minors in History and French. I am (since 1993) a financial adviser (stock broker, RIA) and a licensed insurance agent, which is my other passion and area of expertise. This tutoring for me is not a job; it is a passion, just another way I do what I love - teaching, advising and interacting with people. I
f this sounds like what you want, hope to hear from you soon.

I have always had trouble with Spanish, I have been trying to learn how to speak it for 7 years on and off but I am making huge leaps in this language thanks to Leonardo. Leonardo is excellent at teaching, he will push you to do better and give you practical assignments. Most importantly Leonardo is patient, I mess up all the time and mispronounce words quite often. Leonardo loves to teach and he doesn't keep his eye glued on the clock, He will stay with you until you understand the material. I can tell that he is great at teaching since he has been doing this for a long time. Leonardo can sense when you are bored or stressed and he will switched the exercise and make it enjoyable. The hardest part of his lessons is saying bye at the end, other then that each minute is enjoyable. Take him and you will go far, probably farther then you expected.

About Erida
I'm a passionate tutor of Spanish language. I'm currently working as a Spanish professor at St. Petersburg College and Florida Southern College. I offer Spanish classes at all levels and in different areas of expertise, and I’m also an experienced translator.

I hold a Doctorate Degree in Spanish Linguistics and Translation from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, with a CUM LAUDE distinction. I have been awarded two academic honors of “Golden Medal” in recognition of outstanding academic achievement with regards to my Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Spanish Philology.

Additionally, I have successfully completed various specialization courses and trainings in Spanish Language and Culture arranged by Spanish universities.

I have expertise in a variety of disciplines such as: Spanish Linguistics, Translation, Spanish Lan
guage and Culture, Latin-American Civilization and Spanish for specific purposes.

As a teacher, my philosophy is to provide students with a friendly and supportive atmosphere in order to help them boost their confidence in learning a new language. I feel that students can benefit from my first-hand experience of Spanish language and Hispanic culture. I am thoroughly familiar with the Spanish culture, since I lived in Spain for more than 4 years and during my stay in the multi-cultural Colegio Mayor Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe residence in Madrid, I’ve had the chance to acquire a vast knowledge of Spanish as well as Latin-American culture.

I am not the kind of teacher who believes in a single perfect teaching technique or is anchored to textbooks; I always struggle to find innovative ways that address the different needs of my students, spark their interests as well as stimulate their analytical and critical thinking skills.

My goal is to help my students to rise to their full potential, to transfer my passion and enthusiasm to them and to provide inspiration to fuel their pursuits.

So, if you are an elementary, middle, high school or university student trying to keep up with your classes, to raise your grades or to perform better on Spanish tests or an adult willing to become fluent in conversational Spanish, to learn Spanish for business, tourism or any other specific purpose, or to get acquainted with Spanish language and culture, we can devise a strategy that will fit your needs and wishes.

The term leadership is usually defined as “the action of leading a group of people or an organization.” I define leadership as a process in which an individual helps others succeed and achieve a common goal. Success is attained through unity and cooperation with one another. A person who leads a person or group of people into the path of achievement is a good leader.
I view myself as a leader. Helping others and being an active member in my community are really important tasks to me. Throughout my freshman and sophomore years in Woodrow Wilson High School (2013-2014 and 2014-2016), I volunteered at the Washington National Cathedral tutoring students ages 5-12. Then, in the summer of 2015, I volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club of a Greater Washington. Both of these experiences were wonderful and enjoyable. I gained useful skills that I could apply to my life in the future,( patience, problem solving, communication, time management, leadership skills).

Success is attained through unity and cooperation with one another. A person who leads a person or group of people into the path of achievement is a good leader. A leader, who expresses positive attitude, is able to direct others successfully to reach a unified goal. He or she stands up for his or her own cause while motivating others to succeed.

It is my belief that something is not understood until it is fully and clearly explained. Every time I presented a lesson, I tried to present it in a way relatable to each individual student. My own understanding increased from helping to ease students of their confusions in Mathematical, Historical, or Scientific topics, to reading books and giving group lectures about them, my experiences as a tutor have increased my ability to explain and teach. Taking care of children has always been one of my major passions. Watching children grow, explore and learn has been a rewarding experience that excites me. Their imagination, innocence and creativity are highly enjoyable. Teaching them through art, reading, and outdoor observations offers them the knowledge that they may need in school and later life as they grow up. Every time I nurture a child's interests, I help him or her become a better, brighter person who respects his or herself.

Content knowledge: First of all, it is necessary to obviously, be good at math and have a good understanding of it in order to be a good tutor. I usually borrow the student's mathematical text book before I tutor them to refresh their memory of the lessons and brush up on their own skills.

About Meritxell
Nunca es tarde si la dicha es buena!

It is never too late…..to learn and speak Spanish as a native!

Are you tired of learning spanish but still struggling to speak it, or don't feel confident? Is speaking Spanish a GOAL for you or your kiddo? Nothing better than learning it from a native person.

Spanish is my first language and have been speaking it fluently my whole life and I lived in Spain for more than 30 years. Spanish is a fun and easy going language to me and I commit to teach you what you are looking for!

Let's get started!

Hello! My name is Meritxell, but you can call me Meri (easier and shorter)! I was born and raised in Barcelona (Spain), but have been living abroad for the past 7 years (Brazil, US).

During these years living abroad, apart from my job as a pharmacist, I started teaching Spanish classes
as a hobby in spare times and helped colleagues at work and kids to learn and get confident with Spanish.

I recently moved here to Scottsdale (AZ), and I want to continue helping people to gain confidence with Spanish. Is something I love doing! And seeing how people feel when they improve in a foreign language is great!

I offer:

• Private individual Spanish tutoring or Small group class – Kids/youths/Adults
• In-home or office tutoring (or public library or cafe) for Scottsdale and Phoenix.
• Online classes

First of all is important for me to know which are your goals with learning Spanish to be able to adapt the classes to your specific needs. Whether you need Spanish for business, for your kid who is at school or just for the fun of learning a new language and culture, I will adapt the learning to your needs, level and interest topics. I will create a program 100% adapted to your passions and projects. When you learn things with passion, it always seems easier! I will tailor every class to your level, beginner, intermediate or advanced and I will show you key words, expressions, how to build sentences, main differences between both languages and common mistakes.

Español para niños!! / Spanish for kids!!

Is your kid already taking lessons but feels lost and need some tutoring to improve and help him with homework? Or do you want him to start learning Spanish from scratch?
My approach when it comes to tutoring Spanish to children is Total Immersion. ). I am married and have two girls (aged 6-8yo) who are bilingual Spanish-English, and also learnt native Portuguese while being in Brazil. So our house is always switching from one language to another, although our main language is Spanish. I have experienced at home total immersion learning since they were born and is the best way to learn a new language, especially for kids who learn things so fast! It has been my experience that we need to make the learning experience fun for kids. The kid will be exposed to the new language and will be able to talk it as a native. I teach Spanish "through playing", which means the kids are engaged in different interactive hands-on and conversational games, which makes it fun for them.

“No dejes para mañana lo que puedes hacer hoy!”

Es hora de aprender español! Hands-on!

Nos vemos pronto!
