Russell took the time to observe and gauge my baseline to fit the lesson to my individual skill and need. He was informative, balanced, and is a great drummer himself. He articulates well so it is clear what the aim is.
James
I look forward to the lessons every week. Russ takes the time an ensures that the information provided is understood as well as performed correctly. Homework is always a blast. How many times can anybody say that? I would recommend Russ to any level of performer, if just to sharpen exisiting skills or start from the very beginning, Russ has the ability to get you to the level "you" want to be at with your drum playing. Russ will also introduce books that can be practiced out of when that homework is assigned. Great instructor and as become a good friend. If you want to learn the drums....call Russ!

Russell is the man! Patient, attentive, precise and an outstanding professional with a passion to teach you proper technique and to help you reach your drumming goals! He is an Awesome teacher and musician!

My teaching style is very personable and friendly yet serious about results. Curriculum can be tailored to the student. For piano students I am currently using the Alfred's basic piano library series. Students can expect to progress to the next level within a 3 to 6 month period depending on student’s dedication. Reading, theory, and technique will all improve and grow at the same rate. My philosophy is that instruction should take a learners knowledge of music beyond the instrument.

About Jim

We have had a few in-home lessons with Jim for our 9yo girl and 15yo boy. He's fantastic; he cares deeply about music and their love of it. He has high expectations of their progress, and he is very good with their different skills levels and motivates them accordingly. We highly recommend Jim!

I am an experienced bass guitar teacher with 10+ years of professional career behind me.

I'm looking for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of good playing habits (learning the right songs that you makes you a better musician!). I specialize in rock, jazz and funk. I use some of my own transcriptions and the ones I acquired from Berklee College of Music, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: sound recording equipment, sheet music, and more.

Let's plug in that guitar and play some smooth bass lines :)

About Akos

Akos is an incredible instructor. He is flexible to your goals and style of music you want to play. He is incredibly knowledgable, patient (and good at bass, himself!). I noticed a huge improvement in my learning from lesson 1, even bigger in the first 2 months and now 7 months in, I am still learning a ton. I highly recommend Akos for your bass lessons!

Generally students will learn the flute first before they play the piccolo. Once they are proficient enough on flute, then (if they have the interest) they will begin to learn the piccolo. Learning the piccolo can be great for playing in ensembles like marching band, concert band, and orchestra. Personally, I always loved playing the piccolo in marching band because it is the lightest instrument and louder than the flute! Playing piccolo in an orchestra can be a little scary at first because it is such a noticeable instrument and you want to sound good (and in tune) if you are going to stand out! Some students also might choose to play a piccolo piece for a performance for Solo and Ensemble Festival, for example. In your lessons we will talk about some of the same things in a flute lesson, but will also go over the differences between both instruments. One thing to keep in mind if you are interested in continuing your flute studies, is that half of the auditions you will come ...

I really enjoyed my first lesson!! Thanks Kelly

Ms. Kelly is the best teacher ever! She is so kind, fun, and understanding. I am a busy sophomore in high school with a lot to do, but she always has something fun for me to learn/ play. I like to play more for enjoyment (although she did help me make it to my high school's Symphonic Band) , and I like that Ms. Kelly asks me to my best, but doesn't put pressure on me on things I don't want to do. I'm so happy to have such a nice and talented teacher. She is also super-responsible with sending me lesson notes, as well as keeping up with my schedule. Also, she has a very nice personal relationship to me as a person, not just as a student.

She is so kind, patient and encouraging and makes me play with my best sound and musicality.
