I have trained for 7 years with a variety of teachers. I currently go to NYU for a BM in Vocal Performance/Musical Theatre. I have been taught to sing classically, musical theatre, pop, etc and can teach any style you want! My voice teacher got her Doctorate at Juilliard so learning from me will come a lot from there. I love teaching people how to find their voice since singing is my passion. Lessons with me will be fun as well as informational. I hold a master's in classical voice performance from New Jersey City University as well as a graduate diploma in music composition from the Longy School of Music. I received my undergraduate education from New York University and am currently obtaining a master's in composing at Tufts University. My music lessons are informed from the perspective of being both a performing and compositional artist. I strive to foster a complete musical education for my students, and that includes a focus on vocal technique, music theory, pitch recognition, artistry, and somatic alignment. In addition to my extensive musical training, I am also a certified yoga teacher and reiki worker, and I incorporate mind/body modalities into my teaching of the singing and musical arts. Singing is an embodied art form, as the singer's instrument is literally within her or his body, and as such, I work with students to understand how anatomy and mind/body awareness informs vocal technique.
About Stephany
Hello! I am a full-time singer and composer and want to help foster the beautiful art of singing and music within you. I have been teaching music for six years, and I strive to foster healthy vocal technique, practiced musicianship, and embodied artistry in my students. My specialty is in classical

Stephany is one of the most versatile and comprehensively skilled musicians I have taught, and as a current degree candidate for the Master of Arts in music composition at Tufts University, she is distinguishing herself with cutting-edge work. Her prizewinning original compositions traverse acoustic and electronic media, and include opera, solo song, and instrumental pieces.
An expert communicator and complete musician wholly comfortable with repertory running the gamut from medieval to the most contemporary styles, Stephany is also an Equity actor and member of the Screen Actors' Guild and Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

I will meet you wherever you are, and together we will develop a personalized plan to meet your goals. I will combine - all in an easy-to understand format - music theory, phonetic training, foreign language studies, classical training, voice theory, ear training, vocal training for multiple styles, vocal/auditory health, and music analysis to create the best plan to make you into the musician you want to be!
Singing is a very technical thing. The human voice is an instrument like any other that you can understand and use in a technical manner. But also your voice is a direct extension of your spirit, your identity, your history, and your passions that others can directly perceive! To truly live in your voice, to be proud of your voice, is to be proud of yourself, fundamentally. I will use my clinical knowledge and my personal knowledge as a singer to teach you to use your voice technically without robbing singing of its soul.
About Saturday

I am a classically trained singer and have been performing for over 15 years in Europe and USA.
I teach Voice since 2009.
Bel canto (Italian, "beautiful singing") is a technique that originates in the days of Italian opera where control and the tone quality of the voice were paramount.
From the beginning (and always), I will emphasize the basics -- posture, breathing, and tone production.
Your developing technique will be tested with traditional and classic songs and arias. Correct pronunciation of English in singing is built on the foundation of the simple and pure vowels of Italian. This also applies to singing in French, Spanish, German, and Russian. Further, the classical musical literature in Italian is very well suited to building and displaying great voices.

Opera is my first love, and I love helping students learn and experience their voices for the first time in this beautiful art form. I also have a keen ear for experienced singers, and have a holistic approach to singing and breathing to help iron out problems in the voice.
About Laura
Music is the universal language, and there isn't a genre I don't love; it's important to me that that aspect be brought to lessons, as well! From humble New Jersey beginnings to an opera career, I've seen the power of what music can do! Whether it's opera, musical theater, folk, rock, or just pu

Lauren has a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced. Opera to musical theater. One thing you can be certain about her is that she has a passion for teaching. The commitment to help you improve is there. In my opinion, that is what you want in a teacher. I have the utmost confidence in recommending Lauren to someone who is looking for a teacher."

Since I began studying with her last summer, she has helped me find a physical and mental equilibrium that I previously thought was unattainable. In addition, I have gained an invaluable and specific practical understanding of my personal challenges and strengths as a direct result of the unique and deeply insightful ways in which she handles any problem I bring to her. In a few short months my life and outlook has changed tremendously. I had the courage to audition for and consequently booked my first professional gig since my injury, began the process of planning a production of an original composition and have been encouraged by my teacher to seriously consider singing for both national and international auditions next year. If there is a "Vocal Whisperer" Fawn is it.
To be truly understood as a performing artist (and one dealing with a vocal injury while attempting a career, is a rare and amazing experience. Not only is she amazingly well versed in several nutritional, spiritual and physical disciplines but her unique ability to adjust them into a specialized program for your specific situation and personality type make the service she offers invaluable and like nothing else I've ever experienced. Not only is she deeply empathic, compassionate, giving and sympathetic but she is also refreshingly disciplined in her ability to organize you and get to the heart of the matter. She tailors your lessons in a way that makes them easily accessible and memorable. She has the rare ability to inspire you. She never makes you feel judged, she never 'shames' you into compliance (like my other coaches did), but instead Fawn encourages and wins you over with a warm and comforting sense of humor and grace.
I am deeply grateful to have had and continue to have the opportunity to work with such an original, remarkable and talented individual. I can't recommend her highly enough and personally consider my lessons an essential part of a professional vocal career for anyone who wants to sing correctly and safely (and) stay safe, healthy, happy and sane."

Popular Opera Voice Articles from our Blog
It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
