Guitarist, Songwriter, Composer, Arranger, Producer, Performer

The virtuoso session guitarist has recorded with such names as The Brecker Brothers and the Saturday Night Live band, and he has toured with Journey, Styx, Tina Turner, Robin Trower, Chick Corea, Bob Seger, Fania All Stars, and many other music legends. And now with his group Second Chance, he's more dazzling than ever, rejuvenated with a real second chance after recovering from a life-threatening illness.
George's first album to bring attention to his guitar mastery was Chango, as part of the group of the same name, which signed to ABC Records in the 70’s. The album went gold, selling more than 500 thousand copies. George’s second record was on Mercury records. He also produced, co-wrote and played guitar with a group called Apache, signed to Atlantic records. All the
records reached the Billboard charts.
More recently, George's Under the Influence CD has had major exposure and has been played on over 550 radio stations worldwide. The CD, which has sold more than five thousand copies without a major release, feat

Witnessing George instruct is watching a professional at work! He doesn't play the guitar, but he makes the guitar sing. You can tell his experience by his knowledge of his instrument, and what he teaches is substantial to what I need or anybody else to become a better musician. Just like his productions he teaches at a high-level, but breaks it down for even a child to understand. If you want a transformation in your musicianship, I'm confident Mr. Jacobs is your guy!

George is an excellent instructor. My son had been playing for awhile but just couldn’t get past the brick wall that he kept hitting. George worked with him and was able to get past the rut he was in and help him expand his skills. My son is now 17 and plays in a popular local band that has several paying gigs a month. Thank you George.

I've been teaching guitar lessons for 7 years and my students have gone on to play guitar for personal entertainment, or even have careers as performing musicians. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play basic chord forms and a few popular songs; as time goes on you'll be able to learn songs by ear, play scales and solos, and advanced chord forms. I specialize in jazz guitar but have extensive experience in all styles. I typically use Mel Bay's guitar books as well as my own instructional series of curriculum, and have the following tools available for your lessons: 7 guitars (acoustic and electric), multiple amplifiers, and an effects board. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Zachary
My name is Zach L. I am a professional musician in the Miami area. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of Miami. I am a multiple Downbeat-award-winning guitarist and have been drumming for the past 13 years. I have headlined multiple international tours and received both the Duncan Nelson Scholarship and the Davidson Scholarship at the University of Miami. Furthermore, I am also an accomplished composer and arranger with my works featured by groups such as the Steve Miller Band and the Henry Mancini Orchestra. Lastly, I have held a teaching position as the Professor of Improvised Music at the Narnia Arts Academy International Summer Course in Central Italy.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students' lessons are tailored to their individual needs. I don't teach out of a book (though I do use books to supplement
material when helpful), so students will only be learning what *they* need to be learning next, based on their unique blend of skill, experience, and curiosity. With that in mind, here are some topics on which we tend to focus.

Guitar Lessons:
-Proper Technique. (How to hold a pick. Proper ways to apply pressure to the strings with the left hand. Tension-free technique to prevent injury and strain.)
-Chord Formations. (Bar chords, Power chords, Open chords, Triads and inversions, CAGED system chords, Seventh chords, Advanced jazz voicing, Chords in alternate tuning.)
-Scales/Arpeggios. (Proper fingering to build technical skill. Three note per string scale forms. Conventional scale forms. Cross-fretboard patterns. Seeing arpeggios from different scale degrees. Pattern manipulation.)
-Reading Music. (One position reading. Multi-position reading. Sight reading practice. Understanding rhythmic variation. Ledger line studies. Dollahon 10th position method for sight reading.)
-Repertoire. (Songs in genre(s) of preference. Learning to play songs from favorite artists. Learn to accompany yourself if you sing.)
-Ear Training. (Hearing melodic phrases. Identifying chords. Transcription projects. Learning to "play by ear".)
-Rhythm Training. (Differentiate between different rhythms. Metronome work. Keeping solid time. Develop ability to clap/strum/pick a variety of rhythms with good time.)

*** Studio Equipment ***
Two small jazz amplifiers, five guitars ranging from acoustic to electric to archtops, and an 88-key electric piano for music theory lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Two small jazz amplifiers and five guitars ranging from acoustic to electric to archtops.

I am a Music Composer, Songwriter, and Producer. I like to use the guitar a lot to write songs. I like to incorporate music theory, composition, and songwriting into lessons. We can begin to develop aspects of how to create songs and sing to things that you write. We will go through learning the string names, note names how to read music and understand rhythms. We will learn scales, arpeggios, and playing music by ear. I can teach students that are completely new to the instrument.

About Alexander (AJ)
I am a Music Composer, Songwriter, and Producer. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Music Composition degree. I studied with Grammy-nominated Producer Michael Zager and opened for the Airmen of the Note. I managed Hip Hop Artist Marcus Banks (opened for Ludacris). I play piano, guitar, and trombone. I completed an EP album entitled Lighter Days that I wrote, recorded, produced, and mixed.

I have 10 years of experience teaching lessons. I have taught for Reverb Lessons, Musician's Discount, and also as a self-employed instructor. I studied classical piano during college and performed for Music at Noon events at school. I have knowledge of Jazz, Classical, Latin, Alternative, R&B, Pop and Christian styles. I like to incorporate music theory, composition, and songwriting techniques during the lessons. I like to draw
out of the students and find out their interests and what it is they want to accomplish out of the instrument.

I am easy going, kind, personable, and patient. I like to take as much time as needed for the student to learn the material. I encourage them to do much listening to artists that have played their pieces and are similar to the style they are learning. I also recommend for them to listen to artists outside of the style they are currently learning. I write out what the student should work on throughout the week so we can be prepared for what to do on the lesson date. Lessons are relaxed and cover different aspects of playing to create a well rounded sound and musician.

I have performed for the Merrick Festival Celebration. I have performed in the Mizner Amphitheatre and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. I have performed nationally throughout the US. I have served as a Worship Leader at Crossbridge Church playing live during services and also rehearsing with the group to learn all material. I aspire to create more albums and to also write music for films and radio/television commercials. I am currently working on an album that I would like to release by the end of the year.

I like to play sports, exercise, and to be actively involved at church. I enjoy reading, cooking and writing. I am constantly watching documentaries and reading up on music articles, learning about the latest artists, trends, and musical equipment available.
