I've been teaching ESL to adults for 12 years, both in face to face and on-line formats. As a former ESL student myself, I empathize with the struggle and frustration that comes when learning to communicate in a whole different language. I have accumulated several tips and strategies to facilitate practice and accelerate learning and fluency. I design my lessons to meet the goals of each student and strive to make the class fun and memorable. Let's work together to improve your written a/o spoken English!

About Nery

I am a teacher at heart. I like the language arts and the satisfaction that comes with helping others achieve their goals through learning a new language. I am a good communicator and adapt easily to new situations. I creatively customize lessons and instruction to meet the needs of the individual l

I'm sorry, I cannot handle this Instructor for my children. She wasn't me but she's not quite the people person I expected. Her personality is not a good match for a high school tutor. Unfortunately her English is not good enough. Her accent is entirely too strong. Also she does not know enough Geometry to help my kids.

I have being taking English classes since I was 6 years old, all the way to the second year of college. It ranged from the basics, of course, to grammar, phrases, and literature. Some of the requirements for graduation were to write poems, essays and opinions on novels or scripts and the history of literature in the United States, Spain and Puerto Rico. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with minors in French, Spanish and English. I have been teaching English as a second language (ESL) for over 2 years now. It started with a friend and fellow teacher's request to teach 2 Spanish-speaking small business owners which wanted to speak English fluently to communicate with their customers. They are the ones who have inspired me to add this subject here at WyzAnt to give others the opportunity to learn with me. They were very satisfied and are doing better in their businesses. What they like the most about my lessons is that I don't teach using boring grammar, verb conjugation ...

"I hired Henry to teach English for my little daughter. The reason i have chose him was he was the only one on the list who accept half hour lessons. I wanted to see şf he is good. I was gonna rşse to one hour if i like. And his hourly rate was reasonable too. We met and he was perfect. After my daughter we have studied with him. He has provided fastest improvement on my special purpose of need. It is really not common to see this passionate teachers around. His academic approach to your need and support with newest material in the maket was excellent. I think he is ahead of others because of his major. A senior jounalist, a TV person... he helped me a lot for my journalism career too... So i definitely can call him An excellent career coach. While i was trying to be on time with my project in Los Angeles, i was the lucky one to meet him through takelessons.com. He gave me what i need only at three weeks. We together focused on my certain project's needs and after i was ready to move alone almost. He is great to teach on bussiness emails, phone conversations, expressing your basic work situation etc.
He is great on accent reduction too. While i wrote this review my concerns is he will see and will find anything to correct... But he also has taught me to be courage enough too... Thank you Henry for everything you have done. I am a freelance foreign journalist in LA. He did his best for me both as a teacher and colleague. And such a good heart... Even if you don't share same opinions on any affair he respect you and try to give his best and more than what you have paid. He is patient too."
