As a 63-year old I was concerned it would tough for me to learn. I'm sure I don't retain and absorb like a 12-year old but I AM LEARNING TO PLAY. Justin is very patient and accommodating and I am inspired to practice weekly. Most of all I'm having fun.

Each of my students are so unique and different. I enjoy being able to teach my students according to their personality and how they are able to learn. There's going to be different strategies, games, ideas, songs, etc included in each lesson. Lessons start off where their level is and each lesson, the student is able to grow and move forward and learn new things. I have students also answer questions they learned and have them talk about each song or chord or scale and have them tell me what they see or here. I add in music theory to each lesson. I make it fun and easy to understand and learn. Each student is able to learn how to play different songs and pieces according to what they are learning in their theory lessons, chord progression songs from pop, rock, jazz, classical, etc. I have each student buy their books whether it's online copy or physical copies. These books provide the necessary requirements to learn how to play songs, read music, learn theory, and have room for ...

Gabriel has been teaching my son Riser (age 7 now) for over 2 years now. We feel so blessed! My son progressed so quickly. Gabriel is patient, engaging and has a gift for helping kids grow their piano skills week by week. I love that he's also created "recitals" for his students to play for people! We recently switched from in home lessons to doing them through FaceTime, and it's almost like having Gabe in our home with us.

Have been teaching piano since 2018, and am open to all ages and experience levels! I am willing to work with your needs and cultivate a learning experience that will be fulfilling and focused for both of us. My aim as a teacher is to help you find your voice as a performer, built upon a solid technical foundation, while creating a clear and traceable path of improvement with your note reading, sight reading, music theory, ear training, scales, chords, and hand-eye coordination over the course of our lessons. Looking forward to working with you!

About Sean

Previously, I completed my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, where I was also a

Sean used to teach me keyboard and music theory and I’ve become not only a better musician, but a more well versed musician because of him. He has a very unique perspective and manages to bridge and connect concepts in such a way that really shows how all aspects of music are interconnected in ways you might not expect. Not only this, he showed me how these things connect from a musicians perspective, but also from a listeners perspective as well. Things like how parts work together and how changes in voice leading can drastically improve or diminish a performance. Super intricate stuff that I was able to understand in minutes thanks to his teaching style and personality. Great guy, even greater teacher. Would be the first recommendation I give to anyone I know.
Jessica
I had the privilege of learning from Sean as a student in his choir. As a conductor, Sean is clear and concise in his expectations of students, and is very effective in communicating not only constructive feedback, but specific strategies to address that feedback. As a student, I appreciated how for any issue, Sean had multiple techniques ready to go. If one technique or suggestion was not connecting, he was always able to shift and have other pedagogical recommendations to tackle the problem. Sean’s strength as an educator lies in his ability to balance vocal technique and production with an emphasis on the artistry of singing and performance. I would highly recommend Sean Butler as a teacher for any person looking to grow as a vocalist.
Lauren
Sean’s musicianship is astounding, and that directly correlates to his teaching; though he can hear a wrong note instantly, his feedback is always supportive, allowing you to work and grow in a welcoming (yet (reasonably) challenging) forum. His range extends well beyond the stereotypical confines of classical music, making him an ideal teacher for anyone, of any age, interested in any style. Additionally, his accepting nature is ideal for those seeking a no-judgment learning space. Was truly impressed by my time with Sean, and would recommend him tenfold!

"While I had previous experience playing an instrument MANY years ago, I never played the piano and started taking lessons with Lori as an adult. In almost no time I was able to read the bass clef (left hand) notes and within the year I had learned all the scales (majors and relative minors - both harmonic and melodic) and arpeggios (root and inversions). I was also playing "real" pieces of music.

Lori stresses good technique and good practice habits and can suggest more than one way to master a concept. She also makes learning the piano fun."

"Gabriel is an excellent piano instructor teacher. He's the best decision we've ever made. In comparison to all the other  piano teachers my kids have had, I would say he's the best. He uses a very personal hands-On approach. He's very instructional and makes sure his students understand the basics of music as it relates to theory music, composition, timing, and so on and so forth. He teaches my daughter and my son, and they love him to death. They now look forward to their piano lessons on a weekly basis. Keep up the good work, sir."

"I took lessons with JunZhao (Ryan) because I wanted to strengthen my technical piano skills and also learn more music theory. He was a great teacher, and taught me a lot about how to make playing the piano feel effortless. Not only was he knowledgeable on the technique, but also on the musicality perspective of playing, and the theoretical side of playing. I would definitely recommend Ryan as a piano teacher for players of any level, but especially beginning and intermediate level pianists."
