I have an enormous respect and love for classical music. I am proud to come from a long line of classical teachers reaching back to Beethoven and Haydn. This musical genealogy informs my teaching. Students choosing to receive a classical piano education will be taught pieces composed by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Haydn, Satie and many other composers of classical music.

As an experienced piano teacher of 10 plus years, I can help you get started learning the basics of piano playing, or help you learn more advance playing & technic. I offer lessons that are customized for each student's individual needs. I can help you learn to play your favorite song while teaching the building blocks of piano playing, like sight reading, playing by ear, theory, chords, and more! I started playing piano at age seven when my mother enrolled me in lessons. I have been playing ever since, and I absolutely love it. I began teaching private piano lessons in 2003, and have taught many thousands of lessons since that time. I have experience accompanying choirs, instrumentalists, and vocalists, as well as playing as a soloist in various piano competitions and recitals.

In my piano lessons I use the Faber's fabulous Piano Adventures series. In my opinion, they are the best books on the market, emphasizing reading by intervals as opposed to memorizing note names. This method minimizes student frustration while also decreasing the amount of time it takes a student to read a new song. Piano Adventures also focuses on developing sight reading and ear training skills, something most developing musicians don't study until college-level music courses.

I've been teaching classical piano for 25 years. I began using the John Thompson book. Recently, I discovered my younger students understood Alfred method book better. Therefore, I've been using Alfred for the last past 8 years. I will continue to use John Thompson book for some students.
