Our friends thought we were crazy when they knew the fact that we need to drive 60 minutes single trip to take the weekly lesson, but after they see Amanda playing piano and violin, they think it well deserves it.

A somewhat controversial topic in guitar instruction. Many people are adamant about not learning music theory because they either A.) say it doesn't apply to them or B.) are afraid it will tamper with their creativity. I understand where both of these mindsets stem from but I personally believe they are both wrong.
I have been through 4 years of college music, which includes 2 years of music theory and I can safely say that yes, there is definitely a point where music theory stops being useful and starts to become more of a thing you can use to impress your friends and nothing more. The great thing about music theory is that you don't have to get anywhere near that level of knowledge to reap immense benefits in your playing and writing.
A simple knowledge of chord progressions, chord voicings, keys, scales, and note choice can turn a bunch of cool sounding chords that you were messing with, into a chord progression that you not only understand what it is but also why it sounds

David is both a professional musician and an experienced instructor, and you can tell the difference that makes in every class.
We started with at-home classes, but switched to online during the pandemic and that's working pretty good for me to.
I'd recommend David to anyone looking to learn a new instrument, get better at it or expand their music knowledge in general."
