As an experienced Violin teacher I help students to teach themselves the violin, to understood that their playing only improves when they change habits. A bored or disinterested child simply won’t progress, and a great violin teacher knows how to communicate with creativity and clarity. I have proper knowledge of the violin’s mechanics, general musical and repertoire knowledge, skilled as a player, and strength as a communicator. I have a bachelor degree in string performance, and I’ve taught students from beginner to advance for more than 10 years, guided students participating in inter-school musical shows, competitions and different musical presentations – Fests and orchestras. *** Lesson Details *** I am pretty easy going. I want you to feel comfortable and at ease, but we do need to focus and can have fun doing it. :) I utilize various methods for each instrument, which is determined by the students learning style and ability; needs, so this can change as time goes on (not sticking to one particular publishers materials). I have done (and continue to do) extensive research into materials available for each instrument I teach, and supplement with my own, to utilize the best out there for "YOU" for the best possible progress. While ensuring an extremely well-rounded musical education, so you can progress at the best possible rate. Since each student's potential is different, each will progress differently. This is also determined by your dedication to daily practice (the more you practice, the quicker you will progress & the more accomplished you will become). This is a 'Team Effort'; I give the guidance and tools. You practice, utilize learn these tools, and off we go! The sky is the limit!

I began privately instructing students while I was still in high school. Thirty years later, my studio teaching experience continues to instill a passion for music and students that are performing in their own venues in school and the community. Knowing that the time I have with each person is leading them to grow and share their own abilities with others is truly the heart of where I think musical instruction should lead.
Hello. My name is Kendra and I have been performing and teaching professionally for over 25 years. Utilizing the Suzuki curriculum and supplemental methods, I like to provide a solid technical foundation as well as tailor each lesson to my students' personal musical interests and goals including classical, Irish and Bluegrass fiddle styles, jazz, blues, and popular music. Please note that I reserve studio space on a weekly or bi monthly basis. I look forward to helping you study music and reach your goals!
She is a great instructor! Very patient, especially when there are weeks where I don't get to practice very much because of work. She is understanding and always looks for the progress.

My 12 year old daughter had her first violin lesson today and this is her response on why she is giving Kendra a 5 star
- she was patient when I didn’t understand something
-she was good at explaining “how to” do different things throughout the lesson that I could understand
-she was overall really nice
Classically trained, but I also love Irish and Bluegrass fiddle! Or, I can make skill-appropriate arrangements of whatever music you want to learn, and teach you the technique you need to master it!
I love sharing music with people of all ages. When your teacher is having a great time too, you'll learn more, better and faster!
I really can't describe the emotion of seeing a student light up when they conquer a new technique or figure out that song they obsessed over. Whether your child wants to join the school orchestra and learn classical method; or you were inspired by Lindsey Stirling and just want to learn that one song; or you're retired and have always dreamt of crossing "Learn an Instrument" off your bucket-list, I would love to guide you on your journey to musical literacy!
Hi, my name is Elly. I was inspired to learn violin when I was very little, after seeing a performance of Riverdance- I fell in love with Irish fiddle and begged my mom to let me begin lessons.
I began classical violin lessons in elementary school. By middle school, I had worked my way up to the advanced school orchestra. In 7th grade things changed- we found out that both of our viola players would be missing our next concert. My orchestra teacher begged me to take a viola and methods book home that weekend and learn the parts to fill-in for our absentees. I ended up loving it! I pursued classical viola all the way through middle and high school, then at the University of Arizona, as part of numerous string ensembles and symphonic orchestras.
I continued independent studies of violin, frequently attending Bluegrass and Irish music
jams and festivals.
One of my favorite musical experiences was being part of the Northwest Intergenerational Community Orchestra: a full symphony in which members ranged in age from 9 to 90, and skill levels from first-year player to retired career professionals. I started as a guppy and ended up a respected mentor after several years' participation. Being immersed in that environment was simply amazing, and showed me that age and experience are never a limiting factor in the kind of beauty that can ensue from mutual musical passion.
I will teach all ages and abilities, and I would prefer to travel to you. If you are unable to host, I can possibly arrange an alternate location. Thanks for visiting my profile, and I hope to hear from you!
With me, I like to make sure that the students are going at their own pace and have more of a say so in what they want to do for their goals. Whether it be a classical song they love or learning a hip hop song from the radio, in order to make the experience personal to them I want the student to first identify what they want and use it as a goal to keep lessons productive and fun.
I am a classically trained violinist and performer. I have my own business where I also play Hip Hop, RnB, Jazz, and other genres for events such as parties and weddings. I am currently a junior Music Performance Major at Hampton University but I am originally from Atlanta, GA and I always come home for the summer. I love teaching and spreading the love of music❤️
I have taught professionally for 15 years. Evaluating the needs of each individual student, a course of study will be created that will both challenge the student, and build confidence as they develop playing and reading skills.
