When we realized that our daughter Veronica enjoyed singing and showed keen interest in music, we decided to put her through some formal training in vocals. One of our friends referred us to Ms. Denise.

Ms. Denise is an excellent teacher. She taught our daughter vocals for almost two years. Our daughter had the most wonderful time with her. She focuses on strong fundamentals, instills confidence in students and makes the whole experience enjoyable.

I've been teaching acoustic guitar for 7 years (since I was a teen myself!). Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to read and play from basic tabs, and as time goes on we can work on songs you pick yourself. I generally don't teach guitar students to read sheet music unless they ask; this is because in the "real world" of playing musicians, guitarists rarely use actual sheet music except in a classical setting. I specialize in beginner and intermediate acoustic, pop, country and fingerpicking style. Students should have and bring their own guitar. I will work with students ages 6+, but I recommend waiting until close to age 10 for guitar, as it requires some hand size/strength to reach many chord shapes. Ukulele is a fun option for smaller kids 6+ and I teach that too!

About Maya

"We signed up when our local instructor moved and no others in town were accepting new students. For context, our high schooler has been playing french horn for 5 years, and has primarily been preparing for district/state solo contests this semester.

Oliver is great. He has provided helpful instruction, advice about performance nerves, and has been super-flexible in scheduling.

Honestly, we were initially a little skeptical of online lessons. It took a few weeks to get into a routine, but now they are working out quite well. An advantage to the online format has been how easy it is to re-schedule when we have one-off conflicts, and it's actually kind of nice having lessons in your own home.

In a perfect world, we would love to take lessons from Oliver in-person!"

"My son, Siddarth has been learning Mr.Vasily for about 2 and half years now and I can tell that Mr.Vasily is a great teacher. He's dedicated and expresses a lot of patience when my son forgets or misses his notes. Mr.Vasily also encourages Siddarth to excel by being constructive and not in a negative way, which both my husband and I really appreciate. To excel in anything, it's important to have a good teacher, and we are very happy that our son's learning from one such teacher!"
