I am passionate about giving lessons, my students thrive and learn to understand that as they were given a unique talent to tell stories through music, it is important that they do that to the absolute best of their ability.

Many people have been given different gifts but when someone hears you sing a song that is near and dear to their heart, using the gift of voice, I want them to remember how you made them feel.

People always say that I leave it all on the stage when I perform, well that's where it belongs. I want to touch people, make them remember great experiences they have had and even some sad moments.

I want to inspire them, cause nostalgia and emotions of every type with my performance of a song. This is the language I speak, I sing music and I help people to relate the experiences of their lives to the music they hear.

I teach voice lessons to various ages, incorporating techniques from various genres of study. I was trained by the best commercial voice coaches at Belmont University and I am well-versed in several styles, from classical to country to pop music. Students are able to choose what style or styles they are interested in working on!

I sing professionally in Nashville, and my experience as a stage performer, session singer, and songwriter on music row has provided me with great insight on the demands of the industry. Students can expect to learn about the music industry, as well as a great amount of vocal technique, ear training, basic music theory, and stage performance skills in their lessons. Many of my students choose to incorporate songwriting or basic piano/guitar into their voice lessons, as well.

We also have a home recording studio, and many of my students choose to record their songs after working on their vocals!

Do you love to sing? Have you always wanted to learn? My three-step approach makes it easy and fun. You will learn powerful techniques for developing your voice-tone and ears. You will develop a killer repetoire of your favorite music. And you will learn valuable tips on stage-presence, confidence, and charisma.

I will teach students how to use their mask and nasal cavity in conjunction with their diaphragm, stomach, and legs. to project their voice while also protecting it and maintaining stamina. We will do exercises based around the teaching style of Ron Anderson, who has coached John Legend, Chris Cornell, Anthony Kiedis, Neil Diamond, and many more. We will also go over microphone technique, stage presence, and headspace which all play crucial roles in vocal performance.

My focus is the progress of the student based upon the goals they set for themselves and my ability to push them to their highest potential. I track and monitor my students’ progress from one lesson to the next. I find this level of accountability both helpful for developing self-discipline and rewarding. It allows students to see their own gradual progress as they approach their goals. I cater to every student’s individual learning style. I always aim to challenge my students in fun and creative ways. I have experience in teaching every genre and I aim to expand my students’ musical interests by introducing them to different styles of music. I incorporate music reading into voice lessons. Music literacy is a tool to which every musician should have exposure. In singing, we learn ear training, as well as note-reading, and a variety of vocal techniques, including breathing, pronunciation, strengthening the vocal muscles, and expanding the student's range. We also talk about the story telling behind the lyrics of a song and various performing techniques.

For books, I use the Full Voice Workbook series, in combination with some of my own materials for ear-training and basic theory. I use a variety of songbooks that focus on Disney songs, Broadway/show tunes, classical, and folk songs, depending on the student's age. If there are songs the student wants to work on outside of our regular lesson material, I encourage them to bring that to the lesson as well.
