I am fluent in English/Spanish, originally from Venezuela. I have been teaching for 14 years various subjects. I like to taylor the lessons to the student's needs and their personality. I enjoy making the classes enjoyable and also structured for them to learn. I look forward to helping you learn Spanish!

About Rose
I graduated from the University of South Florida where I received my BA in Theatre performance & Communication with a minor in Dance. I trained at NYU with the Aquila acting company in classical theatre, and I also trained with TVI Acting studios in Los Angeles in Film and television.

My Music and Performance experience started when I was 6 singing in choir, school productions, and taking piano lessons. I continued on with group ensembles, musical theatre shows and later on touring with the Spanish Lyric Theatre in Both English and Spanish in throughout Florida after college.

I have been teaching one on one and group lessons for 15 years in various subjects, Including Music, Dance, Theatre, Academic Tutoring (Eleme
ntary/Middle School subjects: English, Writing, Reading, Math, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Learning Skills, Civics, French, and test preparations), and Culinary Lessons.

*** Lesson Details ***
*For Travel to location lessons I offer 45min or 1hour timeframe only. Online lessons any interval.

I like the combination of relaxed and goal oriented. I like to get to know my students and learn about about expectations and goals they have for themselves. Then I set up a plan that will help them achieve their goals and get them closer to what they want from their lessons. I take into consideration their interest, style, and help them to find their unique learning style.

I do have some guidelines for parents and students. If the student is a minor, I ask that the parent be in the house for the lesson. I also ask that the lesson be performed in the Living room or Music Space.

Rose is an excellent and understanding teacher. She has been extremely empathetic whilst teaching my son and he respects her. I also learned that she plays the guitar, sings and is a very accomplished person. I will soon be requesting her to teach my son the guitar as well. Would highly recommend her to anyone. Mastering fundamentals is extremely important when learning a language. I will tailor the lesson to your needs. We'll begin with mastering the sounds of each letter, then move on to common words, phrases, and simple conversations. Whether it's for travel, leisure, or work, practicing is key. Once you get your footing, we'll expand your vocabulary and understanding of grammar.

About Joy
I am a graduate of UC San Diego (bachelor of arts, sociology) and UCLA (master of public policy). As a child of immigrant parents, I value diversity and love learning languages. I read, write and speak Spanish fluently, and have intermediate command of both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese in reading, writing, and speech.

Photography has been one of my main areas of focus for over ten years. I am trained in both film and digital formats and specialize in demystifying the DSLR so that you gain a good understanding of manual settings and how to use each to improve your photos.

Caring, compassion, and understanding are essential for learning and I strive to do my best in these areas.

Joy is lovely and has been very flexible with my schedule. You can tell she loves photography and enjoys teaching. If I was more of an online learner I would have rated the session a 5. I am now realizing I am more of a hands on person it is personally challenging for me to learn using this method. In an ideal world we would be learning by shooting in real time.

I understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language, especially when you have other subjects to worry about. My personal learning experience helped me understand what is important in developing an easy tutoring program and successfully implementing it. My tutoring experience began in 2008. I believe my qualification and many years of Spanish tutoring with students of all ages and levels have rounded my experience as a private tutor.

About jennifer
Hola! I am a native Spanish speaker, fluent in both Spanish and English. I understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language, especially when you have other subjects to worry about. My personal learning experience helped me understand what is important in developing a practical and easy tutoring program and successfully implementing it.

My tutoring experience began in 2008, my first year of College. I was looking to earn a little cash on the side to help pay for books and school fees. My most memorable tutoring experience was when I lived in Spain for a few months and tutored College level Spanish.
I believe my qualification and many years of Spanish tutoring with students of all ages and levels have rounded my experience as a private tutor. I have been exposed to a variety of personalities, learning curves challenges and ha
ve had the opportunity to customize and direct my teaching to the individual students needs and personal style.

I have a deep knowledge of Spanish grammar, orthography and syntax. My pronunciation is very clear. I make difficult things look easy. If you want to develop conversational Spanish in short time (understanding many people with different accents), I have the methodology for you to be fluent in Spanish.

About Gregorio
My name is Gregorio M. I am a native speaker of Spanish with a very clear pronunciation. I am a Spanish instructor at Washtenaw Community College. I have a degree in chemistry and a master degree in environmental chemistry.
I have been working as a Spanish tutor in the Ann Arbor area since 2009.
I can teach you all aspects of Spanish language: listening comprehension, pronunciation, reading capacity and analysis, writing, grammar rules, slang and colloquial Spanish, academic Spanish, conversational fluency. Additionally, I could give you, if you are interested, information about Hispanic culture and customs, and more.
You can ask me anything about Spanish and get an explanation. If you ask me "Why do people say this or that in Spanish?", you will get a reasonable answer. I'm not one of those teachers who say "It's just because it's lik
e that in Spanish".

My method is simple: it is tailored to your needs. If you wish to become fluent in the language in a certain amount of time, we develop a plan that is flexible but should achieve your goal in the available time. If all you want is for your child to get better grades, pass a class or other more limited goal, then we develop a simpler plan to achieve that. Learning another language is always achievable and not that difficult. Hope you try, let's learn!

About Leonardo
Doing what I love: teaching, training, interacting with people. I retired from the army after 28 years of active and reserve military service, so now I have time to do privately what I did for the army for so many years: teach and train people. For many years I presented seminars in Spanish and English in Central and South America as well as the Caribbean on many subjects to adults of all ranks. I am a Florida State Certified Spanish teacher. My Bachelor's degree is in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, and I hold minors in History and French. I am (since 1993) a financial adviser (stock broker, RIA) and a licensed insurance agent, which is my other passion and area of expertise. This tutoring for me is not a job; it is a passion, just another way I do what I love - teaching, advising and interacting with people. I
f this sounds like what you want, hope to hear from you soon.

You can expect to make real progress towards understanding, speaking, writing, or interpreting into Spanish, whatever your goal may be. I learned Spanish as a second language, so I can teach you the same methods that I used to acquire the language. I hold a Florida Professional Educator's Certification to teach Spanish in grades k-12, and I have used Spanish as a language of instruction in my sixteen years' of teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

About Sara
As a seasoned educator, I know that the recipe for successful one-on-one learning is simple. It has only two main ingredients: your (or your child's) desire to learn, and the expertise I bring from 16 years of experience as a classroom teacher and tutor. When you combine them over the course one or more hours of tutoring, the result is a more confident, skilled, and knowledgeable learner who has achieved or made measurable progress towards his or her goals. The positive, friendly and colleagial relationship you will have with your tutor (me) is just the sweet icing on the cake!
