My first vocal teacher and the best!

Ms. Rachel was an amazing vocal teacher! We would always start off with simple and fun warm-ups, breathing techniques, and would practice singing songs from musicals. My first couple lessons she taught me how to sing I Feel Pretty from West Side Story and we both had so much fun with it! After a little while we learned Cups from Pitch Perfect and then we got into the Vaccai book and I learned a couple songs from there. Overall Ms. Rachel was the best! She even offered to Skype a lesson with me since she moved. She cared about me and always helped me improve my voice in every way she could. I love her!

Of all my year's of formal education, I can confidently say my time as a student under Rob was perhaps the most significant. He demonstrated a tremendous amount of patience, and genuine care into my development, and took me from a guy who was VERY rough on the drums to a proficiency level.

On top of building the physical mechanics and techniques to become a drummer, Rob put even more emphasis on how I internalized, felt, and heard the music. Each lesson focus was equally weighted with theory, practical use, real-time listening, and execution - developing all my senses and slowly building my foundation so I could take the material and know how to grow upon it outside of the lesson room.

Lessons with Rob is more than learning a cool fill, or a fun groove - even though those do happen - but it is learning how to become a musician, and I'll carry the lessons learned from him with me forever.

"Kelly really knows her theory, inside and out. And she can explain how it all works. It's much easier to memorize a piece once you understand the theory behind it: the progression of the chords, and their functions. I wish my former teachers had known theory instead of making me memorize all those notes with no explanation."

"Jessica has been helping me with my music theory. I want to go to college for music and realized I needed some help with the theory part. I’ve never been really good at it but she just makes it so easy to understand!!! We have been meeting for about 2 months now and I feel like I know so much more already! We meet at her location and she has a few rooms in her apartment complex where we just spend some time talking music! I always thought music theory was boring, but I’m actually starting to enjoy!!"

"As Jim states on his bio, he teaches from age 8 and up. I'm one of his "up" students who's been playing guitar for a few years, but never took time to learn theory because I thought it was too confusing or difficult to learn. After being stuck in a rut for the past 30 years, I finally realized that I could be a guitar player, instead of just playing guitar, by understanding WHY I'm playing what I playing. I planned to take a few lessons to see how it would go. That was 4 months ago. Now when I pick up my guitar, I have a plan and am excited to learn more each week. Jim's approach to teaching theory makes it clear for anyone of any age or expertise. If you're young and want to learn the right way, Jim will teach you the right way. For us older folks, I found out you CAN teach an old dog new tricks... I highly recommend Jimmy!"

She always found time to meet with me and definitely put 100% effort even when she was having a recital or in an opera. She is honestly why I was able to pass TP 1, 2, and 3. She is a natural teacher. I am so thankful to have had her the past two years as my theory and keyboard tutor."

She customizes the lesson to my son's needs. I have seen a major difference in a short period of time, with his sight reading, playing by ear, playing scales and chords. I would definitely recommend her and will be taking lessons as long as she is teaching."
