Hello, my name is Bailey and I love teaching violin! I am a professional pianist and public school orchestra teacher. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Fredonia School of Music. I am a certified K-12 music teacher in New York State. I have been giving private lessons for 10 years to a variety of learners ranging in age and skill level.
My students walk away each week feeling empowered and confident in their abilities. I am able to push you while making you feel excited about new challenges. I am able to assess what you need, and offer you meaningful feedback in small, digestible chunks. Along with all of this, I make lessons fun! Violin is the first instrument I ever tried to play starting at age ten, mostly because I loved movie scores and grandiose classical sounds. Since that beginning, I have played in school orchestras every year after and a few years spent in college level symphonies. Throughout these rewarding, fourteen years of experience, I have held different positions as part of the orchestras such as rehearsal manager. I have trained countless peers throughout the years. Also, I was majoring in music for three semesters in college but then I switched to engineering.
Anywho... I know the tricks and concepts to make violin fun and easy(it gets easier eventually I swear). Any age group suits me, as I am very adaptable to different students' needs. Reading music, as well as interpreting what it wants your body/mind to perform, can be explained in countless manners.

I have been teaching violin for over fifty years. I teach using a progressive Suzuki method. I have a unique method of teaching scales using a pattern system which makes scale studies quick and easy to learn in all positions on the violin. I have tutorial videos to go along with your lessons for both Suzuki pieces and scale studies. I teach fiddle and Jazz violin for those who are interested. I also teach on line lessons
I have experience playing in theater, Orchestras, and small ensembles. I am currently playing in the Timpanogos Symphony in Highland Utah. I am also playing in a string quartet.
My students sit in the first chairs in their School Orchestras. I have a good relationship with the School Music Teachers. I always put the school music first and help the student to be comfortable in their surroundings.

Tom is a Denver based composer, arranger, and musician best known for his multi-instrumentalist role in the Grammy nominated rock band, Devotchka. He has performed on many recordings including those by M Ward, She and Him, Nathaniel Rateliff, Bettye Lavette, Eric Bachman, Calexico, and Sage Francis. As an arranger and orchestrator, he has worked closely with a variety of groups including, The Colorado Symphony, The Flaming Lips, The Lumineers, Amos Lee, Gregory Alan Isakov, Trampled By Turtles, Ingrid Michaelson, Lettuce, and Opiuo. He has written original music for theater and dance, including performances by Wonderbound and the Colorado Symphony of "The 7 Deadly Sins", "De Troya" by Dallas based Cara Mia Theatre, and performances of Shakespeare's, "The 12th Night" for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
