I hold a Masters Degree in Music, am a certified North Carolina Teacher, and have been playing the guitar for the past 15 years. We will figure out at what level you are currently playing within the first lessons and then decide together what you want to focus on. This is YOUR lesson, and I am here to guide you down the path that you choose.

I am a Berklee College of Music graduate with major in Guitar and Songwriting/Production. I have vast experience in the performing world having played at Lollapalooza, opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Frampton, won blues competitions, and many more. I specialize in rock, pop, funk, blues, alternative, acoustic, and so on. I can teach all levels of expertise and all ages. Jason is a guitar instructor who looks forward to helping students grow as both artists and a musician. He teaches both acoustic and electric from beginner to advanced age 4 to 94.

Jason has been published in a number of Rock N Roll Magazines as well as taken lessons for years with grammy nominated musicians.

Many of Jason's private students have been with him for years and a few for over a decade.

No matter if you are interested in learning to strum your first couple of chords or master that next metallic guitar solo, Jason will help you throughout the process and keep you motivated with enough knowledge and techniques to keep your fingers busy.

I've been teaching guitar for over eight years. I've previously been a part of two bands during my formative years and recently have been a session guitar player for four upcoming indie rock, alternative, and R&B/Soul albums.
For children and beginners, I use the Mel Bay publication Children's Guitar Chord Book as well as Hal Leonard's Guitar Method series. I also apply basic music theory that includes learning the Circle of Fifths and basic reading of sheet music.

For intermediate guitar players, I utilize the Gibson's Learn and Master Guitar series to teach Power Chord Formation and Delivery, Fingerpicking, Pentatonic Scales, Reading Tabulature, and tackling some of classic rock and jazz's favorite tunes.

For guitar lessons at my studio, I leverage Guitar Pro to project and display tabs and play-alongs with ease. For in-home lessons, I use the software for select lessons as we begin song selection and play-alongs.
