About Michael
I am a guitarist of over 20 years and have played an instrument since I was six years old. I went to college for jazz and classical guitar to expand upon my rock and blues influence. Having first taken piano lessons at six years old, I added tenor saxophone at 10, and guitar at 14. I have 20 years of playing live in a band or for theater work. I believe a musician can learn from all instruments and I try to not just teach guitar, but music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am disciplined but fun. Music shouldn't have to be a chore. It should be a chance to challenge yourself and see what you might be capable of with a little work.

I use Berklee instructional books and the Guitar Grimoire as a foundation, but try to incorporate what each student listens to.

After six months, a student will be able to play some scales, arpeggios and ch
ords (maybe even a song or two they like.)

*** Studio Equipment ***
Pro Tools 10, Presonus Studio Live 24.4.2, mics, instruments, etc...

*** Travel Equipment ***
I'll provide instrument, music stand and amp if needed.
students will provide instrument and willingness to work and learn.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in jazz using chord voices and walking basslines underneath, but also love playing rock and country. I have read/played Spanish charts and Classical music. Also, I play in various cover bands that utilize blues, pop music and pentatonic scales. In addition, I play theater gigs which allows me to play all styles from jazz to broadway to rock.

About Eric
Eric comes from a family of musicians. He began guitar lessons at age five as the Beatles were invading the American music scene. Growing up in New Jersey, Eric performed in rock bands until becoming interested in classical guitar. With New York City only a short bus ride away, he spent as much time as possible in the city, studying guitar with Russian born Classical Guitarist, Dr. Alexander Bellow, and Jazz Legend "Bucky" Pizzarelli. During this time he attended recitals of such notables as Andre Segovia, Julian Bream and John Williams. Being immersed in this musical scene inspired him to make music his life.

Eric earned a degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, where he studied under the direction of guitar pedagogue, Richard Provost. While at Hartt and shortly after, Eri
c performed in numerous Master Classes for internationally acclaimed artists such as Manuel Barrueco, Christopher Parkening, Oscar Ghiglia, Michael Lorimer, and Carlos Barbosa-Lima.

Eric has taught guitar at the college level for over twenty years teaching on the music faculties of University of Central Florida, Rollins College, Stetson University, Bethune Cookman College, Florida Southern College, and St. Leo College.

Eric's experience includes performances with rock groups, stage bands, folk groups, classical ensembles, jazz combos, Broadway shows, operas, solo recitals, and concerto appearances. Eric has appeared hundreds times at Disney and Sea World as well as other venues around Central Florida.

Throughout the years he has had many unique experiences while performing, one of his favorites being the opportunity to play the MASH theme song for Alan Alda as well as other stars in attendance at a cast party for the show, Win, Lose or Draw at EPCOT Center.

Although he enjoys performing, Eric considers teaching music to be highly gratifying. The importance of giving students a good foundation with the proper technique and performance skills cannot be underestimated. When a student can play a song from beginning to end with style and confidence you know you've given them a gift that will offer them enjoyment for the rest of their lives.

I have played the ukulele for several years, and it is still one of my favorite instruments to listen to. It's a wonderful tool for learning basic music concepts and is pretty easy to pick up. I love teaching pop music adaptation and intricate picking techniques on this instrument.

About Jordan
13 years ago, I picked up a guitar and began my life-long pursuit of music. This pursuit has led me in a wide variety of directions. Today, I am the worship leader for Living Life Church, an on-staff music-producer and session musician at Drive35 Productions, and a passionate instructor.

I have a passion for a wide variety of styles of music. For several years, I was the lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter for multiple independent rock bands, the most notable being an indie psychedelic band called Tod The Fox. I have led worship for many churches including Grace Fellowship UMC, Brazos Pointe Church, The Cornerstone College Ministry at UTA, and FUMC Allen in varying capacities. At UTA, I studied Jazz and Classical guitar under acclaimed guitarists Sam Walker and Billy Robertson. Here, I also studied theory, piano, sight-singing, an
d music-production extensively. I graduated Magna Cume Laude with a Bachelor of Music-Media from UTA. After school, I spent 9 months interning/assistant engineering with acclaimed musician/composer/producer Brad Nyght at The Bakery Studio in Dallas- whose credits include being the drummer for The Michael Gungor Band and Desperation Band. Then, got hired as an on-staff session musician and music producer at Drive35 Productions. I have also played guitar, mandolin, and bass for multiple pit orchestras and guitar for the North Lake Jazz Ensemble with director Jim Eger.

My teaching style varies from student to student. Music is a wonderfully diverse subject and every student has his own aspirations. I will do my best to cater each lesson to the student's goals and interests. Whether that is classical guitar method, rock, jazz, folk, country, pop or anything in between.

I have an excellent internet connection and microphone set up for online lessons. I also utilize screen-sharing to make the lessons as close to real life as possible.

A few of my favorite artists include: Michael Gungor, Joe Pass, Andrew Bird, Chopin, Led Zeppelin, Glen Hansard, and Radiohead.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons will vary significantly from student to student. Not only does every student have different goals in mind, they all learn differently as well. I do my best to customize my lessons for each student's goals and needs. A typical guitar, bass, ukulele, or piano lesson may involve music-reading, chord studies, technical work, scale practice, theory, and of course learning awesome songs!

I consider myself a healthy balance between professional and light-hearted. As much as I want to make efficient use of the lesson-time, my primary goal is for the student to truly understand and enjoy music.

I have worked hard to be a flexible musician and teacher. I am competent in jazz, rock, classical, contemporary, blues, worship, country, and beyond and will be happy to teach any (or all) of these styles to any student.

I have been working with Jordan for nearly a year, learning ukulele and guitar. Jordan is an excellent teacher, has a friendly and upbeat personality, and is flexible with scheduling. Our lessons typically involve learning a song of my choosing (which makes the process enjoyable) and learning about music theory. I have steadily improved over the past year and am confident that I wouldn't be at the level I am now if I were trying to teach myself through YouTube videos or books. I offer my highest recommendation with no reservations.

My son loves taking guitar lessons from Jordan. We have now been going to him for over a year and Jordan keeps my 14 year-old engaged and excited about music. My son's dream is to learn more than just the guitar so Jordan helps him expand his knowledge by introducing him to other facets of music, while allowing my son to choose the different songs he would like to learn. He is the best teacher my son has ever had.

ce from many avenues including band, private lessons, choirs, and musical gigs. As a music therapist, I am required to be proficient on my main instrument (flute) plus on guitar and piano. Drawing upon my extensive background as a performer in music and theater, I encourage stu
dents to take creative risks, to be expressive, and above all, to play with joy! All students have the opportunity to share their progress with family and friends during fun, low-stress, semi-annual recitals. (Participation is optional but highly encouraged!)

Teaching Materials:
I use the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures books as a foundation, but also incorporate other music, including classical, pop and theatre music, depending upon student interest and what I feel will best help my students to stretch and grow! Students are also welcome to request pieces they would like to learn; I will do my best to find or create an arrangement that's appropriate to your current skill level.

Allison taught my daughter for 4 years. We found her to be patient and nurturing, and she was able to keep my daughter motivated, which is not always easy, since my daughter quickly becomes frustrated when things don't come to her right away. Allison is great with kids and has a knack for keeping lessons fun, even while she's challenging students to be their best. The recitals were a real highlight for us. They gave our daughter a real goal to work for, and as we got to know the other families over the years, it was fun to watch their kids improving too.

My lessons are tailored to your skills and interests, built on a foundation of good technique and musicianship that will make it easier and more fun to learn the uke.

About Chris
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that playing the ukulele is an investment in your (and your family's and your friends') happiness. Though it is a fun, light, and approachable instrument, it can also -- with time and practice -- be played skillfully and technically.

APPROACH
Where other instructors may just teach songs, I like to explore the "why" of everything: why a G7 instead of just a G? Why a certain strumming pattern? Why does the bridge change the second time around? This way, students pick up a little more theory and technique, making them all-around better musicians, and making it easier to pick up songs on their own.

GOAL
I think the world would be a happier place if everyone played the uke. Playing it is an act of meditation and mindfulness, it relaxes and centers you when you play. And, yes, it's also great at parties. I want to empowe
r and motivate students to continue learning on their own -- beyond what I'm able to teach -- so that the love of ukulele can spread beyond my reach.

ABOUT ME
I've been playing uke for a little over five years, but I've been a musician all my life. I played piano when I was younger, then guitar, and eventually bass. I have sung in a few bands and choruses, and I continue to play a variety of instruments today -- though primarily the uke.

I picked up my first ukulele on a trip up the Pacific Coast Highway and fell instantly in love with it. I like to play (and sing!) everything from contemporary pop songs to classical. I'm motivated by learning, and as a former high school English teacher and tutor, I know from experience that there's much to learn from teaching.
