About Lars
I began to teach guitar at 16 years of age. I have taught students from 7 to 60 years old in a wide variety of styles. From age 12 to 21 I took private guitar lessons regularly. Now I have a lesson every once in a while. I studied jazz guitar primarily with Randy Vincent, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's greatest guitar players. Aside from teaching lessons as a job, I have played guitar in many concerts and continue to do so. Before moving to San Francisco, I gained a lot of experience and valuable education with guitar. I played in the jazz bands in Junior High and High School. I went to four years of a week long summer jazz camp called jazz camp west where I took classes, played open mics and had fun with many musicians, making some good friends. I hold BA degrees in Music (Jazz Guitar) and Spanish, as well as an MA in Musi
c, from San Francisco State University. By now, I am confident in working with whatever musical material students offer! Thank you.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid back teacher, but I definitely expect students to practice what I suggest they practice. I advise that students use method books or sheet music of some sort, and I will certainly make notes for them and create materials they can learn from. I always teach based on the goals of the student and what type of music they enjoy, but I also like to guide the student in a direction I think would benefit them. I usually introduce music to play right away, conforming of course to the skill level and interest of the student. I now play seven-string guitar, which is just a six-string guitar (same tuning and technique) with an extra low string. It will be practical to aide students by accompanying with a bass range instrument.

*** Specialties ***
Guitar
I consider myself a Jazz musician, but I am happy to consider a very wide range of styles. I am focusing now on music of the Spanish Golden Age, 1500-1700.

About Chelsea
Lesson Details:
As a teacher, I've had experience teaching both young children and adults in many settings, whether it be in a classroom, small group lesson, or one-on one. I pride myself on providing lessons that are uniquely individual and foster a students strengths while also building on their weaknesses. The best part about being a music educator is that I get to share my love of music with all of my students. With that said, whether you are a beginner who's interest has been sparked, or you have aspirations of becoming a professional musician I can help you there!

Lessons are catered to each individual student and are conducted in a supportive environment where students are encouraged to take risks, try new things, make mistakes, and most importantly be themselves.

I value the time I have with my students and expect each st
udent to come prepared to each lesson with an open mind and willingness to work. With music, the best results only come to those who put in 100% both during lessons and during individual practice time. This is key in any musical pursuit. Overall, I want lessons to be enjoyable while still maintaining a sense of progress for the student.

Chelsea has been teaching my 14 year old grandson now for over 2 years. She is actually "gets him" where many teachers don't and she manages to bring the absolutely best out in him. She clearly loves her work and it shows so much so that after many years of playing the piano, more off than on recently, I decided to take lessons with her too. I could not be more pleased with the outcome.

Chelsea is not only a phenomenal voice teacher, she is a phenomenal person! Chelsea gave lessons to my daughter for many years and was just as focused with her improving her skills (which she did and even led my daughter getting a vocal scholarship!) as she was on my daughter's overall balance and well-being. We love Chelsea!!

Chelsea has worked with my daughter since middle school. Under Chelsea's guidance, my daughter was accepted into a county honors chorus and accepted subsequently into her advanced high school ensembles. Chelsea understands the busy lives of middle & high school students and is very flexible with scheduling. This summer, she has already started working with my daughter on choral pieces for the upcoming school year. I recommend her highly and we look forward to working with her in the years to come.

About Malda
At age of 6, I began extensive professional piano training and have been performing around same age too. Since 1993 I hold Bachelors Degree in Music with Major in Piano Performance and Pedagogy.

I've been teaching piano to all ages and levels for over 20 years. I love teaching and I'm very patient and kind.

I believe in the power of music to reach deep into the human personality.
I would like to inspire and educate my students in general music knowledge and introduce them to the
beautiful atmosphere the piano instrument creates.
I have participated in numerous competitions and recitals with my students, where many of my students have won awards.

I'm a highly experienced Piano Teacher and active performing Concert Pianist.

I'm also available to accompany students for recitals, concerts, etc.

*** Lesson Details ***
It is
my passion to teach music, investing in the lives of students and using music to cultivate their growth.

It is so important that all my students get out of the lessons what they want and be happy. For ex. I choose some piano pieces and I play for the student, and the student can choose the one that likes more, or if a student has a particular piece that really wants to learn then I explain that and find creative ways to allow that student to meet their goal.
This technique would work for the student, pushes them to practice more and enjoy that. With experience in classical and contemporary music, my teaching philosophy is to build strong technique, to develop musicality, to improve sight-reading skills, and to give to my students good knowledge of theory.

I will train for competitions, recitals or just for fun.

I enjoy teaching all levels (beginners - very advanced) and abilities.

I'm very friendly, patient and believe that anyone can learn to play piano and love their lessons.

*** Studio Equipment ***

*** Travel Equipment ***

About Dylan
I can help you to take your skills and creativity to the next level. I know what it's like to hit a plateau and fizzle out, whether from a technical or creative perspective. My diverse background in jazz, metal, classical, free improvisation, rock, blues, funk and modern composition allows me to provide my students with a multi-faceted approach to growing as a musician. I build a custom curriculum for each of my students. Our course of study always begins with a thorough discussion about the student's goals (both broad and specific), tastes in music, musical background, and general personality characteristics. I want to build a course of study from the ground up that fully engages the student's attention.

My experience and education as a player is broad and multi-faceted. I am comfortable teaching many different topics. In the past I h
ave taught lead playing, rock and blues fundamentals, improvisation, general music theory, jazz theory, metal technique, classical/fingerstyle technique and reading, general dexterity and technique, ear training, and composition.

I came to New York City from Philadelphia in 2005 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music and Music Business in 2009. During my time at NYU I became heavily involved at WNYU 89.1 FM, eventually becoming the General Manager of the station as well as the host and producer of the station's flagship metal program. After graduating, I became fixated on my metal band PYRRHON. Since forming in 2008, we have released three full-length albums (our most recent album What Passes For Survival came out on the internationally acclaimed label Willowtip Records), and have done several North American tours and one Western European/UK tour. Outside of PYRRHON, I compose solo guitar pieces, improvise avidly, and independently study classical guitar.

Judy has been my daughters coach for a few months. My daughter is 13 and not very confident in her skills but Judy has been working with her to boost her self esteem in singing. She has a great sense of humor and knows how to handle kids expertly, and as a result my daughter is gaining self confidence in order to sing in front of others. I highly recommend her!

I would highly recommend Judy to everyone! I've been through different vocal coaches but there's a reason why I've stuck with judy. She's encouraging but tells you the little tweaks you need to fix. She doesn't sugar coat anything but she always tell you in a nice way so no ones feelings get hurt. She encourages me to do better, she's there to talk about what's going on in my life, like she truly cares. She taught me how to acknowledge all the roles singing plays in. I've learned , and have truly become better because of Judy! Highly recommend her all the way!

Hi aspiring banjo pickers! I am passionate about sharing one of the most amazing instruments on the planet with you. I play professionally with a bluegrass band all over the United States and occasionally in Europe. I live in Winchester, VA, with my three children. I am a Mountain Home recording artist and have recently released my debut solo album, True Colors, which is getting quite a bit of positive attention from Sirius XM and radio stations across the country, much to my delight. My teaching style is straight forward and to the point. I explain to you clearly, note by note, exactly what to do. Occasionally I write out tabs but more often it's all by ear, which seems to work best for most of my students. I like to get started on a tune right off the bat because I'm not a big fan of boring exercises! Who is? You'll be pickin' in no ti
me!
Age is of zero importance! Many of the students I've seen become fine banjo players have started after they have retired. On the other end of the spectrum are children, who always seem to pick it up very quickly. Being a mom myself I enjoy teaching kids and feel particularly skilled at that.
If you have any interest in learning to play the banjo I urge you to give me a call. This instrument has changed my life and I know it will change yours, too.

Improving Technique on Guitar: Exercises to Try
