My instructor ( Malda Keri) is extremely well qualified as an instructor. She is patient, understanding an has a sense of humor. I am a senior with a visual deficiency and she always seems to take that into consideration during my practice sessions. She has been with me for 6 months and I feel major progress.

Students can expect a teacher that addresses every single aspect of learning orchestral upright bass: from honing bow technique, to left-hand formation and fingering choices, to reading musical notation, interpreting music and learning rhythm.

My goal is to help students develop a technical foundation on the bass for playing just about any kind of music that they are interested in, and to support students with practicing tips for areas in their playing where they want to improve. My specialty is symphony orchestra training, so I primarily use the Essential Elements for Strings books at the beginning, and then later as students make progress, I begin to introduce standard orchestral repertoire, sonatas, and concertos written for the bass. I have been teaching since August 2016 and so far I have helped students get into All-States, ensembles at the New England Conservatory Preparatory Division, Districts/Regional festivals, youth orchestra programs, and music degree programs at ...

Darren works hard with my son from the moment he arrives until the moment he leaves, and I can always hear big improvements in the quality of my son's playing over the course of the hour. Since working with him, my son has qualified for Northeastern Senior Districts Orchestra and the All-State Orchestra. He has helped him take his bass playing to the next level and enjoy opportunities that he may not otherwise have had!

Darren Sacks is a fantastic bass player and teacher. I have improved quickly with him as my instructor. He helped me prepare for a solo in my high school orchestra and I felt that I was as prepared as I could have been. I was able to make it into my local district orchestra with his help. He's very passionate about his craft, and it shows through in his teaching.

Darren did a wonderful job of preparing me for my audition. He could fix all of my issues and answer all of my questions! Thank you, Darren!!

"Matthew is simply amazing! It's clear that he has the vocal expertise and experience as he led me through exercises and techniques that allowed me to sing notes I hadn't once thought possible. As someone who has been singing a long time, but hadn't always found the opportunity to learn through one-on-one training, he led me through a process that not only allowed me to sing at my best, but to understand how the voice worked and what experiences I should be having as I sang. Matthew truly wants to help his students learn their best and healthiest sound, so they continue singing for the rest of their lives. My vocal training wasn't just about learning to sing. It was about giving myself the opportunity to invest in myself and to see where my voice could take me. Matthew cultivated me being not just a better singer, but a more confident performer and professional."

"better singing progress!

I think the singing lessons with Aryls are amazing! I can feel and hear my voice getting fuller and louder and my self feeling more confident as I sing. The lessons are also versatile because I can apply them to singing but I can also apply to my own talking voice. She makes singing fun but at the same time, she takes teaching me seriously. What's especially helpful is, since I'm a science person, she explains the science behind the voice, which helps me look at the voice on a whole different level. I would definitely recommend her to anybody, as I have had a lot of progress with her."

"My son had been taking lessons for 4 years in the Suzuki program. We relocated to FL and were looking for a new instructor. We found Remi after searching for classical instructors in the area. Our previous instructor talked to Remi and thought he would be a good fit for our son. The first lessons were seamless, our son felt very confortable with Remi. Our son could learned through memorization and never learned to read music except for a few notes. In the last 4 months our son has learned to read music at a higher level along with timings and rhythms. We would definitely recommend Remi to anyone wanting to learn to play guitar or learn how to play better."

4 Ways Piano Competitions Make You a Better Player

What do the best piano players have in common? Most of them have participated in piano competitions, exams (like the ABRSM), or recitals.
