With a long background in music, but not drums, I studied with Rich for four years and would be still were it not for unrelated physical issues.
There's no one I could recommend more highly, as a drum teacher...as a person. Studying with Rich is not only drum education, it's enjoyable.

About Scott
I have been playing drums and percussion since the ripe old age of 9, in 4th grade. Originally wanting to play the clarinet, my music teacher thought my sense of rhythm was too good to waste and placed me in the drum section. I was the only kid who didn't want to play drums. Over twenty years later

Since I started studying drums with Anthony he's been able to help me improve as a drummer in so many different ways and also clueing me in on things I wasn't paying enough attention to before. His expertise in the subject is second to none and his friendly and encouraging attitude keep me engaged and working hard towards my musical goals.
I can't highly recommend Anthony enough and I'd totally give him more stars if I could!"

A good music teacher not only knows how to perform on his/instrument well but knows the art and technique of imparting the knowledge. Those are two totally different skills.
Ray is one of those rare guys to come around who has both skill well developed: he is a great musician, a great pro drummer who knows how to put himself in the student's shoes and thus can impart to the student exactly what the student needs in order to make progress.
Add to that a great positive personality and passion to boot and you have a great teacher and mentor.
I took "Advanced Drum Chart Reading" lessons and "Group Performance Workshops" classes from Ray at Cornel School of Contemporary Music and I am continuing studying with him after my graduation. I highly recommend him."

Rather, drummers who employ long practice sessions of average quality will never perform at high level. And high-quality practice over short periods of time won’t help drummers achieve the re …
