I have been teaching flute for 20 years and I enjoy working with students of all ages to help them reach their goals. At the beginning level, I use the Rubank Method, Suzuki Book 1 and 40 Little Pieces. At the intermediate level, students advance to the Rubank Method (Book II), Suzuki Book II and III and beginning etudes and scales and at the advanced levels I work on tone, technique, standard repertoire and college requirements.

About Pam

*** Specialties *** I use the Suzuki method for younger flute students and a combination of Blocki Flute Method and Rubank for students who are in fifth grade and above. I work with students to set specific goals for their progress and encourage them to enter solo and ensemble, all county and all

About Kiah

I've been playing music for more than a decade and the thing that has really stuck out to me that I would say is the most important is this: Never stop practicing. Some people are naturally gifted and pick up skills very easily. Some people aren't quite so lucky. The thing though is that being natu

Kiah is super! She knows so much, is super friendly, and really warm. I worked with her as a fellow teacher at a music school in Washington state, and I often asked her for advice. She taught me many techniques and gave me advice that I implemented in classes with my students. I also learned from her myself. I saw her students advance really quickly; it was impressive. I can only recommend her! Best of luck in Florida, Kiah!

The materials I use for my flute lessons usually consists of embouchure exercises, finger exercises, tonguing exercises, and scales, in addition to following the Rubank book series of flute instruction. This well rounded practice regime, if practiced regularly, makes for quick and thorough improvement!

After playing the flute and piano on my own for seven years, I began my classical music education at the age of sixteen with international soloist Jun Kubo. "Jeremy is an extremely hard worker. I met him at SDSU and watched him improve immensely in a short amount of time. He made the top 3 of each chair placement audition at school placing him in the top ensembles . He's constantly learning and sharing his practice tips that have helped him get to his high level of performance. He knows how to help other students, explains concepts in simple ways to understand, and knows which books to use. He puts attention to detail and focuses on technique. He listens attentively and helps you train your ear. His expression is beautiful and his passion shows through his performance. I would recommend for a private lesson."

"I had the pleasure of taking lessons from Jeremy when I was in marching band in high school when he was a first and second year at SDSU.
He was great at giving me the knowledge and exercises to improve as a player, and challenge myself with new exercises. Jeremy also made sure to create a practice schedule that I would realistically be able to do outside of lessons.
After taking lessons from him, I was able to become first chair flute in my high school's wind ensemble (the highest level) as a junior, as well as excel in marching band. He is an overall passionate and dedicated teacher who creates a fun and educational learning environment.
I have no doubt that he has continued to grow as an instructor as he continued his musical education.
It is my pleasure to recommend Jeremy!"

"When I finally decided to follow my dream to learn how to play the flute I knew Ceste would be a wonderful teacher for me. With the exception of singing in church and along with my favorite songs on the radio I had very little experience with anything musical. Ceste was very patient as I learned how to read music accurately and when I didn't practice as much as I should because my job got hectic. Throughout our lessons Ceste was my biggest cheerleader; when I struggled she thought of different ways to explain something to me or searched for a different piece of music to help me reach a different note. Ceste truly cares about her students and seeing them succeed in their musical dreams/goals."

""I took flute for two years, in high school. Didn't touch it, again, until age 65.
I was blessed to find Katrina King to help me learn flute, again. Now I'm playing in a band, for senior players. She is a competent/knowledgable, kind, and encouraging teacher. I have great respect and love for her as a teacher, and a friend.
I would highly recommend Katrina, at what ever level a flutist is.
Playing the flute brings me great joy, as I see steady growth. I'm always learning something new.""
