About Jim
I have been teaching for the past 15 years as a private instructor. My students range in age from 5 years old to 64. I teach beginner and intermediate piano and beginner, intermediate, and advanced electric bass.
I've been playing professionally for the past 30 years as an electric bassist, pianist, and vocalist. Learn to play like your favorite artists while having fun and growing as a musician. For bass students, you can learn all styles that are desirable, such as funk techniques like slapping, R&B grooving, rock & roll driving, and jazz swinging. For piano students, you can expect to learn enough music theory to reach greater heights and move forward while developing a love for the piano and the world of music. I offer a teaching environment that is highly interactive and encourages students to play, and understand the dynamics of p
laying with other musicians. You will learn to read music but I promise you will not be bored.

About Norman
I have recently located to the Tampa, Florida area and I live in Lutz. I have enjoyed teaching and helping students of all ages for 26 years in achieving their goals in learning to play their instruments. Educated at Columbus State University with a Music Education degree, I teach many instruments including piano, guitar, including Classical style, banjo, saxophone and clarinet. If you would like to start on the trumpet or trombone, I can help you as well. I specialize in working with the first time beginner, giving them a solid foundation in instrumental technique and musical knowledge, as well as helping those who have some experience on their instruments and who are looking to advance.

*** Lesson Details ***
My goal for every student is to experience learning their instrument in an environment that is both encouraging and rewar
ding. I exhibit patience with the student knowing what it takes to develop new skills and I work hard in helping each student feel at ease in expressing themselves. I have used many different materials over the years, depending on the individual student's needs and desires to play their music. I do stress learning to read music notation so that you can approach with confidence any piece of music that you would like to play. With the proper dedication, every student can enjoy making music in a short period of time, getting better and better along their musical journey.

*** Specialties ***
I have used many of the published methods for all of the instruments over the years. I am always open to any approach that will work for any given student.

I’m as new as a student can be, I have zero music training. Norman was very slow with his instructions and has plenty of patience, I never felt rushed or inadequate. He was very encouraging, only time will tell if I can pick it up..

I had never touched a piano before selecting Ray for my teacher. After just a few lessons he has me playing and improving with each time I practice. Because of his great teaching ability I'm on the right path to playing well. He's very patient and explains everything in terms that are easily understood. I'm not sure I would be progressing so well if it wasn't for his exceptional teaching skills.

About Kevin
Hello! My name is Kevin, and I am looking forward to teaching you everything I know about music! I've been singing at Walt Disney World for over 23 years (and I still am currently) with the Voices of Liberty, the Dapper Dans of Main Street, and Four For A Dollar. I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Penn State University. Even more than singing, playing the guitar, arranging for a cappella, and playing piano, I love to teach! Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I've wanted to be a teacher of music in various capacities. My favorite aspect of teaching several private students each week is that every individual student has a different story: What is it that you want to accomplish? Would you like to sing, play piano, or play guitar? Would you like training in music theory? Do you want to eventually have a career in m
usic? Will this be a hobby for you? Whatever your goals are, I am excited to know your story.

We've been seeing Mr. Christian since November for beginner flute lessons for our 12-year-old daughter. From the beginning, Mr. Christian has been incredibly patient and encouraging while being firm and uncompromising. Our daughter has gone from having difficulty with "Hot Cross Buns" to confidently attempting All-State Band pieces, largely thanks to Mr. Christian's instruction. In February, our daughter scored a superior in Solo and Ensemble after just three months of Mr. Christian's tutelage, plus she is jumping to middle school symphonic band next year. We cannot recommend Mr. Christian highly enough for anyone, of any age, aspiring to learn how to play the flute well.

We've so enjoyed having Christian teach our 8-year-old son. Christian makes a point to integrate musical numbers that are interesting to him - like the themes to Jurassic Park and Sponge Bob! My son adores him and loves their time together. We look forward to a long relationship with Christian!
