Mandolin Lessons in Eaton Park. Amazing Teachers.

I teach Mandolin fundamentals, techniques, strumming, songs, melody playing, and music theory. I have Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Classical Guitar and have been teaching music for over 20 years! I also teach Music Theory from beginning all the way to advanced for those who are interested.

I teach beginner and intermediate mandolin, focussing on the basics of stringed instrument skills. We will spend some time reading basic melodies, learning the fretboard, and learning strumming styles and techniques. I have played mandolin for years and for several professional musicals.

I've been playing mandolin for 9 years. I began my studies with Sharon Gilchrist, a former member of the Dixie Chicks! I teach folk, classical, bluegrass, jazz, blues, pretty much anything your heart desires! Feel free to bring me material that you really want to learn. I offer an open space for my students to explore whatever they like.

I've been teaching mandolin for 4 years helping students develop a love for the instrument and learn more about music along the way. Mandolin is an often underappreciated instrument which is fantastic for both melodic and rhythmic playing styles. Within the first few lessons you'll have a solid base of strumming, picking, chord changes and melodic playing, with a couple simple songs too. Moving on from there I will craft lessons to move you toward a "goal song," making sure to cater your progress to your needs while keeping a focus on good technique. I enjoy working with students of all ages and experiences and I can't wait to meet you!

You decide what we learn--we can start with learning to read and play from a book for steady, foreseeable progress and goals, or simply start with the chords of your favorite songs from the radio--we can even learn tab--or all three! In our first lesson, we will discuss what your personal goals are for the mandolin and formulate a plan for your individual success, based on the type of music YOU want to learn.
