In May, 2016, I graduated from Valencia College with an A.A. in Piano Performance. In 2014, I started teaching piano lessons for beginners. I taught for two years in an after school program at a middle school in Orlando. Now I teach private students.

A typical lesson with me looks something like this:
The student plays what they have practiced, and we work on any difficult areas and techniques for playing better.
We discuss the next lesson, making sure the student understands everything.
I expect my students to practice every day, just as I do. It is the only way to become proficient.

About Melody

Hello. My name is Melody Cook. I began learning to play the piano when I was five. After pursuing other interests for several years, I decided to study piano performance at Valencia college, where I completed my degree in May of 2016 with a 4.0 GPA. I continued my education at UCF and graduated

I've been teaching guitar for 30 years. My students have gone on to play professionally, have their songs on iTunes and teach at the college level. Once I get an idea of what type of guitar you are interested in, and what style, I can develop a plan for you. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Eric is a very kind and patient teacher. I took lessons from him , as well as my 7 and 9 year old grandsons. We have all learned a lot from him. Eric is very flexible to change dates and times to meet our needs. I hate to discontinue my lessons but must due to health issues. My grandson’s have many other interests but may return to lessons at some point. I highly recommend Eric for adults and children alike.

I would highly recommend Eric at House of Music for guitar lessons. I am after a certain style of guitar music using finger picking to play for my special needs son. I have learned that not all teachers are familiar with this style. Thankfully, Eric is great at it. He is also teaching me how to read music and not just play the chords or tab which is something I had overlooked. I am thankful he has been able to work with me and my unique set of circumstances and help me reach my goals.

Hey there! My teaching career spans 10 years, from kids as young as 5 to adults in their 50s. I'm best with beginner/intermediate students looking to build their confidence on their 'instruments' - whether guitar, voice, or songwriting. It's most important that I get a feel for what *you* want to achieve from your lessons, thus I'm a flexible teacher - performing out, casual playing, professional writing, writing in your backyard, singing at parties, or singing behind the steering wheel. It's my job to provide you with the tools to sharpen your own, and bring other skills level with the areas in which you already dominate. As is the case for many (including myself as a kid), picking up an instrument often comes as the result of wanting to emulate another artist (my influences include Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and The Matrix songwriting team); this often translates to interest in the ability to play/write as early as possible. With this in mind, I've successfully promised my students ...

About Jake

Hey there! My name is Jake, and I'm a lifetime musician. I began playing guitar and taking lessons 20 years ago (at age 8), and writing songs at 5!... my grandma recalls asking me to play "number 5" on the piano, and I'd do as I was asked, right from memory. Guitar, songwriting, and singing have lo

Very good experience on our first lesson. Brendon worked with our 7-year-old son and was patient with the online setup. He did make us aware that having online lessons with someone that young presents a bigger challenge but with our help, we are going to make it work (my wife and I are musically-trained).

Deborah's expertise and professionalism are a pleasant surprise when you consider how young she is. I have met teachers that are decades older than her who do not have the ability to accurately tell you exactly what you are doing wrong or how you can correct it. You hear a lot of, "just keep practicing and it will sort itself out" from other instructors, and this could cause you to develop bad habits that could affect your voice. Deborah is the opposite of that.

She pinpoints exactly what I am doing wrong during my lesson and offers suggestions on how to correct it going forward. I appreciate that because if your instructor doesn't tell you, your audience will. And you might not like how they say it. I am there to go beyond just singing in the shower, and her constructive criticism only makes me better. She is also polite when she corrects you, she's not cracking the whip.

She focuses immediately on different techniques that will help you improve your voice so that you can PROGRESS, instead of just banging out scales on the piano lesson after lesson and overlooking mistakes a student may make like some instructors do. I hate to be this blunt, but there are some instructors I have met in the past who do just that (none of them are from takelessons) to me it shows a devotion to the art and a commitment to bringing out the best voice that you have she wants you to be as good as her! To me no one could ask for any more than that in a voice instructor. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a teacher.

Deborah is a wonderful teacher. She is patience, caring, understanding, knowledgeable, and motivating. I HIGHLY recommend Deborah as a vocal coach.

Just as she promise ;work on breathing first, usually I like some time go by before I make a comment but the first introduction went so well, I have a positive outlook of my future practice. I have my questions answer and I also understand them as well. I am sure I have more and have confidence they will be answer....

"Andrew is a talented musician and a skilled teacher. He can pick up pretty much any kind of stringed instrument and just start playing it! His passion for music makes lessons a lot of fun. I was surprised how quickly I could start playing! His style is a healthy combination of drills and actual playing, so you get the technique but don't get bored or frustrated because you're still learning how to play little melodies. He's very good at explaining things in several different terms depending on your technical background. His explanations of technique and theory have helped me understand music in new ways. You will love working with Andrew and improve your skill level no matter what your musical background."

My 11 year old son is taking lessons with Phil and he is a great teacher. He is very patient and explains thing well but doesn't dwell on things my son had already learned from a different teacher. He also does a good job of motivating my son to learn more and practice by teaching him songs that my son picked out."
