At the intermediate level, students advance to the Rubank Method (Book II), Suzuki Book II and III and beginning etudes and scales and at the advanced levels I work on tone, technique, standard repertoire and college requirements.

I love teaching people of all ages, both child and adult students and also believe in making lessons fun and engaging. We will work on technique, scales, long tones, basics of how to play and read music but I also like working on songs that interest students. Whether it's classical, jazz, or top 40 songs I want to find what makes music special to each student!
About Kendra
I am a musician with an equal passion for performing and teaching. I have taught ages 8-80 at all levels from beginner to advanced. I believe in the importance of teaching a strong core of music fundamentals but I also want to find what makes music special for each individual student. I believe les

Kendra is wonderfully, broadly trained, and very effective at working with me on everything from embouchure and fingerings to maximizing effectiveness of practice. She is ALWAYS upbeat, supportive, friendly, PATIENT, and helpful - and I've always looked forward to our lessons. She is very good at figuring out how to be helpful, and how to keep the joy in music even while working on technique, and at my request, music theory. I could not have enjoyed the experience more, or been more successful, than with Kendra.

My 13 year old daughter has been taking flute lessons with Roberta for the past two and a half years. She has made remarkable progress during this time. Roberta is a wonderful flutist and an extraordinary, dedicated teacher. She inspires and motivates her students, and knows how to communicate with them on the appropriate level. She has a warm personality and a good sense of humor. My daughter always looks forward to her lessons with Roberta. I highly recommend Roberta both as a flutist and as a flute teacher for any level of student."

Roberta is great! She is patient, attentive, timely, efficient, and (most importantly) a fantastic teacher. I'm an adult learner, and she has always tailored her lessons to me in an easy, relaxed manner with a mind to achieving my goals. She makes you look at things differently.I highly recommend Roberta."
