Viola Lessons in Anna Maria. Amazing Teachers.

During the first lesson we will get acquainted and you can tell me about your history with the instrument and what you would like to learn. Then I will come up with fun technique building exercises so you can play with ease. Then we usually work on a goal piece. For the piece I will give you practice methods and ways to play through the pieces with a beautiful tone. Viola is fun and expect to have a great time!

Experienced Music teacher of 8 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their instrument and theory skills. I specialize in all styles. Typically, I use a variety of method books to pick from to meet the needs of the students. I also have many tools available to use during lessons.
My students have gone on to NYSSMA and on to college auditions successfully!

You will learn posture and note reading for the alto clef. You will be guided by me through method books and I will create supplemental materials to help you advance. You will play duets with me and develop playing skills. You will learn higher positions and learn to play in an orchestra to follow a conductor. You will learn how to articulate to make the viola stand out in an ensemble. I have been teaching viola for 5 years. My students win seats in school orchestras. I want to be your next instructor.

I have been teaching viola for seven years. Though I am classically trained, my interest in music goes far beyond classical music. I am constantly listening to various genres of music and consider myself a forever learner, loving everything in music from Prokofiev to the Flaming Lips. It is my job to help guide my students through their musical journeys, whether that is helping them get into their regional orchestra or teaching them that one song they've always wanted to learn. I teach out of the Essential Elements and Suzuki Method books. Though my lessons are fun and relaxed I will always give my students that extra push when needed. My goal is to help each student reach their personal success and to instill a love for playing music.

I have been playing classical violin and viola since I was 11 years old and am now 24 and currently working on my Master's of Arts. I am a firm believer that everyone can learn music. No matter the age, I give my all to each and every student. I also place an importance on tailoring every lesson to what each student wants to accomplish or what they need/ want. My goal for every student is to reach their maximum potential and most importantly that we enjoy making music together.

As a dedicated performer, collaborator and teacher, my goal is to make the world of viola enjoyable and accessible to everyone! While the viola may not be one of the first instruments that comes to mind when someone would like to learn one of the instruments in the string family, it is certainly one of the most rewarding and lessons can help unlock that world!
