I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their instrument and theory skills. I specialize in all styles. Typically, I use a variety of method books to pick from to meet the needs of the students. I also have many tools available to use during lessons.

Hi, my name is Tanya and I have been teaching piano lessons since I was just 16 years old! What started as a fun activity during my childhood, turned into a lifelong passion.
I love teaching kids of all ages and figuring out different ways to make the lessons fun and enjoyable.
I was lucky enough to grow up with a mother who taught violin lessons all of her life. Watching her teach has been very educational and inspiring.

I have nearly a decade of experience teaching piano students of all ages, and particularly enjoy working with beginners! I work with students on developing the musical fundamentals that will let them explore any genre they're interested in, whether they dream of playing Beethoven sonatas, keys in a rock band, or hymns at their church.

Note: Prices listed for this subject area are for in-studio and in-home lessons, regardless of genre. I am offering reduced online rates during the Covid-19 pandemic. These are available under "Piano" lessons.

My lessons are based on my decades of experiences and education from Berklee College of Music that I graduated with a scholarship as Summa Cum Laude, and the Bachelor of Music from Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, Japan in addition to middle school & high school music instruction license.

I try to build a good relationship with my students so they can rely on me to develop their skills and to bloom their talents.
Music lessons should be fun. Something to look forward to. Everyone has different expectations towards music lessons and that's what I try to explore and expand depending on each student's needs and goals so they can always enjoy and grow :)

Classical Piano normally leads to other styles of piano playing, which I encourage. However, if you want to focus only on classical piano technique, I can take you up to early advanced/late intermediate studies (Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, DeBussy, Mozart, etc.).
