Lessons are customized for the students based on their interest and experience. I will cover the basics and rudiments with new students but allow them to create and follow their own musical path using a variety of methods and musical styles. Learn to read, write, and play different styles of music with accompanying techniques and fills to add to your groove development.
Teaching drums professionally since 1998, Aaron has influenced hundreds of budding musicians to get the most from their instrument. He has studied privately with Rob Laytham (Modern Drummer columnist), Joe Leroux (marching band guru), Gary Chaffe (legendary drummer) and many others throughout the years. He has taken the best techniques and teaching styles from his influences and molded them together to form what he considers to be the most effective and inspiring method available.
I teach drum set in nearly every style and hybrid imaginable, as well as percussion and drum circle facilitation.
Accomplishments include recording 7 albums with various groups, touring with national acts across the west coast, drumming for the Warner Brothers Television house band, and still actively playing live shows and recording.
*** Lesson Deta
ils *** I put my focus on inspiring students to explore their own creativity with the tools and techniques that I give to them and nurture. I think it is very important to cover the basic skills that the school districts expect from their music students (sight reading, proper technique, note recognition, rudiments, timing, feel, etc.). I also feel it is important for a student to find his or her style and an ability to use the fundamentals to create music that they enjoy. He has written a method book based on the fundamentals of playing a rhythmic instrument with an emphasis on allowing the student to find their niche and lead a group through a piece of music or tastefully support it.
My studios are fully equipped with sound systems, the latest recording gear, acoustic and electric sets, hand drums and dozens of other percussion instruments. I believe that the more resources a person can draw from, be it intellectual or physical, the more fulfilling the learning experience will be.
Each lesson, my students will take at least a page of music that represents the concept that they are focusing on, and a goal set to accomplish by the end of the week so that they can build upon what they already know in an effort to put the big picture together. Ultimately the student will learn when and how to utilize the concepts that they are practicing.
*** Studio Equipment *** A Yamaha electronic drum set in my Mesa Studio allows me to control volume and dial up any sound imaginable. I have full acoustic drum sets in other studios that I use for recording and private lessons. Often I will integrate guitar, keyboard, or other instruments in to the lessons if needed.
*** Travel Equipment *** Sticks, Practice Pad, tuning kit, binder and books with teaching supplements.
*** Specialties *** Music, Drums, Percussion, Theory, Composition, Piano and Guitar. Drummers should be well versed in all genres of music. Rock, Jazz, Latin, Swing, etc. Most of my students begin with concert and marching styles on a practice pad, then advance to the drum set. I teach note recognition and placement, rudiments, linear playing, moeller method, rhythm theory, sub-division of notes and time, and the sight-reading to support these techniques.
I have been playing drum kit and percussion for over fifteen years and teaching for about 12. I've played a little bit of everything - pop, rock, punk, hip-hop, ska/reggae, blues, jazz, and even musical theater. I'm happy to share my skills and expertise with drummers of all ages and skill levels (lessons at my studio will be on electronic kit).
I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums.
I have been teaching guitar, drums, and piano for about eight years to students of all ages. Music is what I'm passionate about and it's what I enjoy. I want to inspire that same passion into the hearts and minds of others.
*** Lesson Details *** I am a laid-back teacher, fun, and I focus on the needs, abilities, and ambitions of the student. In turn, students must realize that learning an instrument takes a lot of work and dedication. One can't expect to learn very much if s/he only practices or thinks about the instrument during the lesson. If the student is willing to put some time into practicing, then I will help them go far!
o Equipment *** I have several guitars, a drum kit, djembe, mandolin, clarinet and full-size keyboard.
*** Specialties *** Guitar: Classical, jazz, American or Irish folk, rock and pop; lead or rhythm. Drums & Percussion: All genres Piano: Classical (includes sight reading)
After years of playing with some of the best musicians on the planet, as well as learning from the great masters of the past, giving clinics and guiding countless students through their musical paths, I've built gradual methods of internalizing rhythm and movement that are meant to not only help the student learn that which they're pursuing in the most efficient way possible, but inspire them along the way -- cultivating their passion and encouraging them to engage with the material with the type of fascination and curiosity that brings about the best student they can be.
We will be working on knowing where One is, technique and movement around the drums/pad, soloing, harmonic rhythm, as well as any material the student themselves would like to work on.
Touring drummer, educator, multi-instrumentalist, clinician and composer, collaborated with artists such as Avishai Cohen, Pat Metheny, John Patitucci and others, teaching private lessons in Brooklyn.
The methods of internalizing rhythm I've developed are intended at providing the student with an inspiring, musical approach to their practice, so as to become the best drummers they could be. The material is built for ALL LEVELS, from the aspiring beginner to the most advanced professional. We will explore the fundamentals of rhythm, movement, coordination, phrasing, and anything else we'd consider to be in-service of the music
Expect to learn the fundamentals of drumming including: -Technique -Rhythms -Tuning -Application of what you learn
My name is Luis, and I am very interested in inspiring everyone to learn drums. This includes drumset, concert and marching snare drum, concert percussion, Latin percussion (congas, bongos, timbales etc), and marimba (xylophone, bells etc). I look forward to teaching you!
My main goal is to help my students to become fully functioning drummers with a very strong grasp on their instrument!
My teenage daughter had a high school band audition coming up soon and did not feel confident. He was willing to work with us on short notice. She has learned so much in just a couple of lessons. We are very pleased with his commitment and teaching style. An Awesome Instructor!
quoting my daughter...”he was pretty cool”

Luis did an amazing job with my son. My son struggles with focusing and attention, and Luis was a perfect fit for him. He really worked hard with him over the course of a year + to prepare him for Lavilla auditions. I can confidently say that without Luis's help, my son wouldn't have passed his audition with flying colors and get to attend such an amazing band program at a great school. We are eternally thankful for his help!

Very thorough and friendly. Great motivator when I was overwhelmed and nervous. I don't think there is anything Lois couldn't help me achieve.
Positive, patient and motivating, 40 years of playing drums & percussion and over 12 years of private instruction with a wealth of music knowledge to share. Lessons are always designed to be educational, engaging & fun, combining a balance of learning notation, playing by ear & performance with other live instruments! We will find out what interests you most and get you on the drum set right away for fast results!
I have 40 years of playing drums & percussion and 12 years of teaching beginning and intermediate drummers by ear, performance & notation. Preforming drums has brought so much enjoyment to my life and has expanded my cognitive and creative mind more than I would have ever realized when I started in 1978. Teaching/sharing my drumming experience is a passion, my students are taught not only how to play drums but also about music structure (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.), how to perform with other musicians and how to dissect a piece of music. Various styles and rhythms are taught and rudiments are covered thoroughly - nothing better than an impressive double stroke roll! I have always been a teacher that I feel can understand each personality and adjust my approach to each lesson as needed and furthermore, I always treat my students with res
pect, courtesy and patience which I find makes them more apt to relax, listen, learn, feel the music and have fun!
I teach lessons to any grade/age group. I have an extremely open mind to teaching and music in general, so nothing goes out the door in terms of philosophy, however, I've come to realize that some methods work better than others. That said, I tailor my attention and focus as an educator to the needs of student I'm teaching in front of me. I don't consider the student who just walked out of the lesson or the student who is coming in next. I put my all in the student who is in front of me because I believe time is an essential asset to lessons. Also, every case is so uniquely different in terms of students and I take a good amount of time to calibrate the learning style of every student.
I am passionate instructor who is fueled by seeing success in others. No other feeling is more fulfilling then seeing the growth of another human.
I have been teaching private lessons in my own studio for about 8 years now. I've taught 7 marching bands and currently writing music for some with an emphasis in percussion.
Currently pursuing a degree in Music Business at Northern Illinois University. I've participated in Drum Corp. tours such as Colts Drum & Bugle Corps ('13) and Phantom Regiment ('14-'16), and also marched 5 seasons of WGI with Cavaliers Indoor Percussion.
Learning the drums is almost instinctive to most music lovers. I will teach you to feel the rhythm and groove while learning to speak, read and write in the language of music
Hello everyone. My name is Mitch and I hope to be your music teacher soon! I have been teaching music since 2000, I have a degree in Music Education. Music is undoubtedly my number one passion and teaching it to others is most fulfilling. I have been in various bands and musical productions and I am currently holding the position of Assistant Director of Contemporary Music at the Church in which my family attends. I don't use your lesson time as my "show off time". I expect students to practice daily and attend lessons prepared and ready to build on the previous lesson. I cherish the long term relationships I have with my students, former students and parents. I hope to welcome you into that circle and help you build the skills necessary to color your life with music.

I have been taking drum lessons with Mitch for over 2 years. He is a great teacher!

Mitch is very attentive to a student's level of learning and is patient with the student. But if a given lesson is quickly learned, he moves forward right away. This means to me he pays attention to what is going on and is flexible to help the student get the best use of their time.
I have over 30 years as a professional musician and studied under the best in my community. I perform with top level, award winning musicians and have toured US and Europe. As an instructor, I've churned out over 400 students over my 12 year teaching career. Many of my students tour with their own bands and or perform in their high school marching and jazz band. I work from industry standard material and include my own lesson strategy that's proved trident true over the course of my teaching career. I've won many awards and have been furthering my music education when I'm not touring or recording. I don't have any degrees but am considered one of the best drummers in Tucson. I've performed on stage and recordings with many well known drummers. A few to name, are Tommy Larkin's, Ed Shemanski and Winston Watson. I proficient teaching any style and have applied all styles into my repertoire while performing and recording. I teach drummers how to become a musician, not just a drummer. ...
I'm a skilled professional musician/drum and vocal instructor. I've performed/recorded/toured for over 30 years. I've studied from the best in Arizona. I teach all ages and all are welcome. I'm able to provide special needs instruction, i.e. students with autism and learning disabilities. I provide students with technical skills, and teach students how to read music. I also teach students how to interpret their favorite artists and how to play their favorite songs.
Being a part of a students educational growth is very rewarding. I have current students who tour in bands in the United States and Canada. I also work with students who need help with material for middle and high school marching/jazz bands. My system as a drum/vocal instructor has been proven through the success of my students.
Aidan did a wonderful job helping my son learn percussion- several instruments. He is patient and empathetic, and great with even young kids. I appreciate that he tries to let the kids do things that are fun for them while still teaching the basics.
"Alexa is a great teacher, an awesome drummer, and totally sweet always on time and serious about the arts. If you are serious about drumming consider her!"

"Best drum teacher in Orange County
I've been talking lessons with Mike for about 5 years. He is both a great teacher and person. He combines a high level
of skill and teaching ability with unmatched enthusiasm. His lessons are a combination of practice on the pad and on the kit, culminating in learning to play songs. Learning a new instrument is not easy, but this approach works and is very rewarding( as well as fun). Mike is also very friendly, fun, and energetic. To summarize, you WILL NOT regret choosing Mike. He is great teacher, and is someone who you or your child can become friends with. I will never regret having Mike as my drum teacher."
"I had a wonderful first lesson with Dave. I can feel his passion and his soul when it comes to music and life. I know we will have a strong connection mov

Drums are an art form, and like all art forms, there are as many styles and techniques as there are people.
