Bienvenides! My name is Ra Ruiz León and I am a Taino-Borikua educator from the island of Boriken (Puerto Rico). I am a fluent in both Español and English.

Ra is so great. She is patient and really knows her stuff. Definitely flexible in scheduling and she is so great with teaching my daughter.

I elected to choose an online Spanish teacher for my daughter Arianna who is nine years old - after unsuccessful locating a local Spanish speaking class/teacher.  Haven't had any experience with online teachers, I asked Take Lessons to recommend a Spanish native speaker from Puerto Rico. I needed to find someone who understands and is very familiar with the pronunciation of the Latin dialect.  Ra's focus is conversational language; however, she was more than willing to take on the challenge of starting from the beginning with the basics, such as the alphabet, number, months, etc. and building into conversational sentences with Arianna. She is extremely easy to interact with, soft-spoken, and processes a genuine love of teaching. My daughter looks forward to their weekly meetings while embracing her Latin roots. ra is a great instructor—very down to earth, funny and approachable. i really appreciated her ability to understand my learning style and goals, and tailor her offerings to meet them. if you are looking to gain more confidence in speaking spanish, i suggest you take classes with ra. many teachers out there may try to help you learn to speak perfectly, but ra focuses on helping you learn to be understood, and i find this much more useful. i’ll be taking more classes with ra, for sure. thank you!

Ra was very professional, welcoming and well knowledgeable to say the least. For a beginner such as myself with no prior experience, not once did I feel left out or that I couldn't catch up to her and it was all due to Ra being willing to not only revisit the steps but to do it all over again if necessary. Ra does not only engage and interacts with you very well, but she makes certain that you are also having fun all while learning. In conclusion, I highly recommend Ra if you are looking to get your Latin groove on!

Ra is such an amazing teacher . She was very patient and kind with me making me feel at ease right away . Ra was understanding about me speaking some Spanish but being hesitant of having a Spanish conversation due to me not being fluent . She was great at taking the pressure off and actually getting you to enjoy the language and speaking it .very uplifting and I never felt discouraged if I messed up . I definitely recommend her

I had the most amazing experience with Ra!! She was very friendly and extremely motivational,  especially for a novice such as my self. I felt really comfortable while learning, and had allot of un along the way! Ra is very knowledgeable and I'm excited for my next lesson.

Ra, is not only very patient with her students, but is also interested in making sure your goals are being met. Before we got together for rehearsal she asked me what I wanted to accomplish so we could structure the class around that.
