English (ESL) with Mhammed I.

Aloha! My name is Mhammed, or simply Moe, and I live in Honolulu. I am a professional student and a newcomer to teaching ESL. I, also speak, French and Arabic. I was born and raised in Morocco before moving to New Jersey at the age of 11. I have traveled frequently since, and I consider myself to be a global citizen. I take pride in our shared humanity and expansive diversity as a species. Our ability to communicate and collaborate with one another never ceases to amaze me. Traveling is an integral part of my well-being and development. Exploring new places, seeing new faces, and hearing new tongues speak are some of the simplest ways that traveling can help a person evolve. It is for this reason that I am here. I became an ESL teacher because I, too, had to go beyond my comfort zone and learn English before becoming a native speaker. It was difficult, awkward, and embarrassing (at times) but it was worth it. I understand the loss that comes with learning a new language, as you may feel you are leaving a part of yourself behind. However, developing a language, as universal as English, can lead to new ways of understanding the world and yourself. There is an authentic thrill to speaking more than one language as you engage with your day-in / day-out routine, and I am here to guide and assist you in speaking the vernacular of my American identity. English is a fun, weird, and expressive language that I loved learning, and I love teaching even more. Sincerely, M
