I am an audition coach for On-Camera Acting and Voice-Over technique. Hi! Our time together will be both productive and fun. Focused yet relaxed, and always a safe place to try something new. During our session we will work either on your current audition (if you have one) or a variety of Audition Prep techniques for when you ultimately have those opportunities. Attending our sessions with a playful attitude towards the work will birth spontaneous and creative choices, unique to YOU.

I've been working as a professional actor for over 30 years in TV, film, voiceover, animation and on stage. I've seen the industry navigate a variety of trends and feel it is extremely important to stay up to date on what the industry is asking for now. As a coach, I help both beginning and pro actors tune into creative impulses so they can perform unique and bookable voiceover auditions. I also teach VO technique and share the most up to date approaches to keeping your work sounding fresh and of the moment. During our sessions I'll give you warmups to incorporate into your preparation and help you get out of your head and into your body. We talk about the best ways to self-direct since so much material is being recorded in our home studios. And most importantly, I encourage my students to approach our sessions with a sense of play and being open to the joy of spontaneity. After all, that's where our originality lies! I love what I do and am excited to meet and work with you!

I’ve taken multiple VO classes with Melissa at this point and enjoyed every one of them! She has an amazing ear for the small but powerful changes a tweak in delivery can have on the performance as a whole, as well as how to adapt the underlying intent and mood to completely change the performance. I started these classes as a complete beginner and Melissa did a great job at breaking down the basics of voice acting while helping me feel comfortable and encouraged during the process. The classes have been so fun and helpful I will definitely be taking more!

This was my first time taking a course for voice acting. I've taken voice lessons so some of what I learned there were definitely fundamentals in Melissa's course as well. Melissa was very engaging, and created a personable learning environment for the group session that I took. I'm definitely going to take lessons with Melissa again.
