I was so interested in becoming fluent in Spanish, so I could connect with people outside of my own culture. This curiosity was something that came to me naturally, and motivated me to achieve Spanish immersion. I gathered insight on a vast number of concepts, some of which were not directly related to language acquisition, but offered a prospect for a deeper understanding of the fabric of language phenomena itself. Why did my approach have to be so complicated? Well... I was certain that if I understood the way I learned my first language (english), I could gain insight that could later be used design a process that I could use to learn another language. Without a doubt, this unique approach is responsable for my current level of fluency (C3). Despite the vast amount of Spanish-learning resources, it was easy to feel discouraged. But when I became driven to learn, I was in touch with my true potential. The most important thing I learned is- there's no guaranteed path to our goals besides the one we make ourselves, with the help of our teachers. My path lead me to where I am today, and because of this, I hope to become a light in the dark, to show others the way.
