    Acerca de Kaya Y.

I am Kaya. I was born and raised in Japan and have lived in the US for 36 years. I hold a PhD in Anthropology and an MA in Psychology. Education is my passion. I have 15+ years of teaching experience in US colleges and universities. I gained invaluable experience through working as an instructor of Japanese for seven summers in a language immersion program, where I taught six hours of classes daily and tutored students one-on-one for two hours every evening. I currently teach Japanese using the GENKI textbook at a college in Washington State. I am skilled in helping students struggling with verb conjugation, adjective conjugation, particles, kanji, and other challenges. I answer grammar and syntax questions and clearly explain in English whenever needed. I welcome college students, high school students, businesspersons, and anyone from complete beginners to advanced learners. I make every effort to offer personalized lessons tailored to the student's strengths, needs, interests, and personal goals for studying Japanese.
