I am a software engineer with a strong background in education who LOVES helping people master difficult concepts. Before I got into tech, I taught students of all ages, from small children to adults. I worked at an online university and particularly loved helping adult students improve their computer skills so that they could succeed in their classes. I tutored ESL for college students in Turkey, which gave me a ton of experience teaching people of very different backgrounds. I got into coding with JavaScript and fell in love. My favorite thing is building full stack applications using React. As a software engineer I can definitely code all day without stopping when I'm in the zone. But since I love teaching so much I end up spending quite a bit of time helping other beginning or intermediate coders out as well. I find it very rewarding to see someone else develop a new skill that will help them achieve their goals. Since I learned to code as an adult, I understand completely how challenging it can be in the beginning. I take a very positive, encouraging approach with my students. You will never feel judged for not knowing something (that's why you're here!) and I don't believe in stupid questions. My strong background in education, combined with my skill at building full stack JavaScript applications makes me a passionate and confidant tutor. Random fact about me: I have five fur babies - a golden retriever named Luna, a pittie named Skye, and three cats named George, Albus and Severus.
